What's up with a friend's requests? When someone adds me as a friend I don't even get the confirmation or anything.

We have the fancy profile feature disabled, so friend requests don't mean much. That's probably why it doesn't function properly.

Why not turn it on? Or this will be too much stress on the server?

We just don't want to enable it and have it be completely different in IPB 3.0, which we eventually plan on migrating to. It's really just a matter of someone having time to port all of the skin changes I made to IPB 2.x over... there are a lot of them.

Does anyone have a problem with displaying avatars/thumbnails in Opera?

Even direct link to avatar won't show it. It's not all avatars, though. Only half of them. Clearing or turning off cache did nothing to solve this problem.

http://forums.duke4....oads/av-354.jpg only show frame but not the image itself.

Yup, I'm having the same problem using Opera, and I have no idea why *sigh*

You might want to try reporting it as an Opera bug, it sounds like their jpeg decoder chokes on certain varieties of jpegs. All images uploaded to this forum are run through a script that uses jpegtran to losslessly switch them to the jpeg encoding that yields the lowest filesize for a given image, resulting in much better load times for a lot of images. It is unfortunate that the jpeg decoder in Opera is defective. :dukegoof: All of our .pngs are run through PNGOUT as well.

Okay, I reported it. Worth a try.

Cool, thanks for reporting it. I hope they fix it! For what it's worth, the tool our jpegs get run through is made by the same people who make the jpeg library used in Firefox and Chrome (libjpeg), so it's not just some random crap generating malformed jpegs that a few browsers happen to be able to read. The libjpeg library I mentioned is pretty much the de facto jpeg library. It actually looks like the Linux version of Opera might be using libjpeg... can someone confirm that this problem does NOT happen in Opera on Linux?

It unfortunately does happen on Linux. Lotan, do you have a link to the bug report you submitted against Opera? I'd be curious to see what becomes of it.

I don't think it's available online. Its ID is DSK-333791. I haven't submitted it on forums, but through online form.

Mr. Green had the same problem. Weird.

We'll look into it. Thanks for confirming!

Works now. TX beat me to finding the function in the ACP that'd alleviate the issue. ;)

Not sure if this qualifies.
My English sucks, so I use Word for a grammar check, and paste a long winded post into the editor. Then I click preview. Some blank spaces in a given paragraph get ignored, and you get some thing like 'ablack' instead of 'a black'.
Browser = Google Chrome and/or Safari. Posted Image

Another issue are smilies. I put a smilie in, click on preview, and all <div> <br> etc are now part of the text.

You are not allowed to use the image extension in this board

That was in the DNF forum, is there a new restriction there? Or did I do something wrong?

What do you mean by image extension?

The [img] tag. I can show you what I mean...

I tried posting it and the error didn't show up, but neither did the image.

Here it is:

It means what it says. The "image" you tried to post doesn't have a valid extension because it's a URL that presumably returns some kind of image data, not an actual link to an image file on a server.
