I hope some of the AI was changed/fixed because I don't know how I feel about ROTT's enemies in a game style like that in their current state.

I hope you'll actually be able to hear enemies now. It's bad enough that enemies tend to blend into the environment, but their gun fire volume and range also happens to be far too low. Too often I found myself having to stand completely still and spin around in a circle hoping to catch a glimpse of the tracers of the guy silently shooting at me from somewhere. I've had Enforcers firing at me from the other side of a room and I had no idea they were even there until I instantly died from one of their grenades. On that note, I hope Enforcers can begin to reliably telegraph their insta-kill grenade throws with their trademark "Here, catch!" phrase as they always did in the original ROTT as opposed to remaining virtually silent in this remake. Instantly dying without warning in a game without quick saves is not fun.

It's going to be semi-automatic. Almost "Shoot as fast as you can click".
The gun will be cocked between each shot. The barrel will rotate every time.

So it's gonna be like the gun from Serious Sam 2? :P

This game does have some serious flaws, I kinda lost interest on it but regardless I like to show respect for the work of the developer in this reboot/remake, it was refreshing and I'm sure in their future projects they'll improve and hopefully keep focusin on the 'old school shooter' niche.

True. Let's hope that the 1.1 Patch is gonna help us ALOT!
I am willing to give Fred a chance. Cool guy, and nice persons. They took 15 $ for a game, if 1.1 fixes most of the stuff i am happy to be honest.

With the way they talk, I get reminded of this:

1.1 is legit. We've been working around the clock on it for weeks. Fixes, changes, optimization, new maps, good times. SOON.

Yeah it wasn't funny or meaningful before the game's release. Now, after all this time, things haven't improved.

It's a community word. A guy who wasn't even in Interceptor invented that. It's just a way that shows they actually care about us. Let's hope 1.1 shows some love.

They just need to say the update is on the way. Or, if they have to say the word soon (as in its coming out around the corner), then just say it. There's no need to emphasize it and repeat it like a 3 year old drunk on sugar.

I'm sure everyone has their own interpretation, but IMO if the update isn't coming out in the next 3 days, people shouldn't be saying SOON.

Otherwise, that's not caring. That's lying.

I am sure it will land so we can play in the weekend. Or else most of us who bought the game will be pissed. I mean they already made a 20 % OFF on Greenmangaming, which pissed a lot of people off. If it won't land before the weekend, trust me hell will rise on earth..

At the moment, the game desperately needs some sort of Steam spotlight or Free Weekend to get people playing again.

well I am sure this patch will goes as planned they've had since the 19th aug to find 50 beta testers and so far the thread has 35 replies and its over 20 days now.

eggh if they wanted easy money they should of just released it as an alpha on steam and gradually built it while people still paid for it, lots of smaller teams are doing that approach these days its more economical not wasting dev time on testing the millions of variables available that bastard gamers can and will exploit in today's engines/games

I think they will make a free weekend. Dave said they are looking into this particular thing, so people (mainly people who are insecure about purchasing it, or people who never played games like this) could actually have a chance of seeing what it is.
The patch will hopefully be here so we can play in the weekend

So has anyone (other than Daedolon) played the new patch yet? Getting a slow download here as usual.

Still won't run for me. Luckily DaveyDoomsday has promised me a refund.

Patch 1.1 initial impressions:
Improved stability and overall playability, overall experience remained low fps though.

Initial release was overall bad for me.
1.0.2 boosted performance, but it spiked up and down (when I fired the firebomb or godhand the game slowed down to a crawl)
1.1 removed the spikes, so I have constant decent FPS now, I'd describe it as 30'ish.

I'll finish ROTT now I guess.. though I hoped it ran better on my machine, as I consider it at the top of the mid end.

The air control is indeed a lot better. Like many other things though, it's something that should have been correct in the first place.

My PC is 4 years old and I can run it at max settings just fine. I guess I'm just lucky by the sounds of things.

I do have a much better performance increase with 1.1. My FPS isn't at its best but there are no longer random spikes of low FPS.

The launcher still likes to not respond for about 20 seconds before I can either click the play button or change the settings up. There doesn't appear to be an option to not download the "Free DLC" either so I'm not sure if they really know the meaning of DLC and should have just called it a content update.

No multiplayer servers close enough for me to play on though either :/

Edit: Game isn't bug free though lol:

The game doesn't seem to want to let me walk through this area in the middle of the screen. I think it's due to the clipping on that stone column to the left being too big.

Does the entire soundtrack consist of what we here in Finland call kikkelihevi ("kikkeli" being an affectionate word for penis and "hevi" = heavy)?

Some people here wanted me to review RoTT-Reloaded or at least get my opinion due to my earlier connection with Interceptor. I will do so next week. I am a bit busy currently, so it may take a few days.

So I'm giving it another shot, I've got to level 2-2 on normal difficulty. I'm on the bouncy castle part and after dozens of deaths as a result of awkward jumping mechanics and badly designed platforming I'm nearly ready to throw in the towel.

Notice that the jump pads either bounce you straight up or to the direction you need to go (usually dead on the spot). Also 1.1 adds air control so you can control your movement while in the air.

ROTT always had air control, except it sucked ass before the update. You'd start off really slow then suddenly be moving at full speed, making it extremely difficult to land on small platforms. Now the air speed seems much more constant.
