I tried downvoting this but I couldn't, so I'll just say it:
Nice job directing people to a song you like by attaching a misleading title to it, you - I think I'm gonna stop there.

I don't understand what purpose this thread could possibly have.

Even though this song is garbage, I was curious as to why the guy posted it. It samples Duke at one point.

What is this?
Someone makes a dubstep thing, adds Duke's voice to it, posts it on YouTube and then posts it here and writes this has nothing to do with Duke Nukem?
I usually support music, even dubstep but this posts gets

This needs to stop getting any more attention, positive or negative.

It's not that we take things extra-seriously. It's that this "joke" was constructed so poorly that it was a complete failure.

Oh, dear, what have we here, a comedian that gets pissed when one of his jokes blew up in smoke.

I think this guy has some comedy value left. Posted Image

I love dubstep. It's a masterpiece artform from a production point of view, not a musical one (except for maybe rhythm. It doesn't involve very advanced musical theory, but you can really get interesting by mixing together different time signatures and drum patterns and melodies, the same way metal, classical, and other genres have already been doing for years). The technicalities and attentions to every detail that goes into producing almost any dubstep song is incredibly advanced and anyone who can accomplish it is impressive in my book (which, sadly, most of the time is not the artist). At the very least, it's far more engaging to my complex-hungry brain than the top 40 party beats that's on every radio station now. People can hate on the new fad all they want, this time the music industry took a step up. It's not just all about the bass drops, though. There's got to be more to it than that. Throwing that wub-wub bass in any old pop song doesn't make it a dubstep song.

Wow, it's not not too bad, it's amazing! Too bad he never released it..
For those of you who like that stuff, there's another old song by Datsik with Duke samples in it, check it out:

Heh, I remember that. I used to like a bit of Datsik and Excision every now and then. I still prefer the classics though.

Elaborote, PLEASE. I'd love to know how producing a dubstep song is any more of an art than the recording/mixing/editing techniques used to produce albums like Dark Side of the Moon and Sgt. Pepper's.

I didn't say it was any more of an artform than any of those, but its right up there with them. I respect the amount of work that goes into it. It's not easy or simple in any way and it can be incredibly creative.

I love Pink Floyd as much as the next guy but considering it the apex of all musical art without question kindof kills any chance of a serious discussion. Pink Floyd albums are technically impressive, sure, but I can think of a number of albums that are simpler but that I like better than Dark Side of the Moon.
