Usermaps from a Japanese fansite  "complete with sweet-ass gif files!"

I came across this link and realised there's a bunch of usermaps here. You can open up the *.lzh files with 7zip - I've literally taken a look at the first map in the list before I go to sleep and it actually looks pretty decent, it's a singleplayer one. I have no idea what the rest are like but it's worth sharing here.

His version of E1L1 is interesting. Apparently he didn't had access to the original map from the grp, so he did everything from scratch, and apparently he mistook the angle of the entire map.

Okay, I might not be the right person to evaluate maps, but Zoo is adorable. ;)

Woah, this whole site is freaking adorable.

These maps are very amateurish, and there is nothing really to see here unless you are a completist.

Had a quick look at the maps in mapster. In my opinion, the best ones are:

4jigen04
aztimo09
e1l1i17
iyapopo8
iycity2e
layout09
tower
zoo ;)

Gotta love the japanese architecture in some of these maps.

Yeah some of those are curiosities because of Japanese idiosyncrasies but there doesn't seem to be anything terribly worthwhile.

Well, many maps are dated as far as 1997.

Don't know if adorable is the right word.

I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going.

It will save me a lot of my life if someone post the shot of "japanese architecture" in these maps...

That's impressive, especially for the map's ages. The Duke textures don't work that well but the author did a good job making those buildings look unique and I haven't really seen that done before.

i took the time to look at those in mapster, some of them actually look very nice and clean with some very interesting architecture and construction here and there especially given the era the maps were made (it's still fairly simplistic, but there are some good ideas), i don't know how well they play but one or two of them look like they would definitely be worth reviewing, at least from a strict aesthetical perspective they don't really have much to envy to most of the most simple-looking hot maps out there
