lol there's a console command that converts all regular rotating doors to doom doors that slide up and make the doom sounds too.

Make from scratch is definitely believable, moreso because of the Hammer editor. Such an easy toolkit to make anything. Easier than UDK and Unity.

You forgot the skull lamps at the exit door and the pillar lights near the end.

But it does feel like doom with the exception of that weird fov.
Then again it's not doom, yet it can trick somebody that it is.
It kind of looks like the opengl doom source ports, if nobody tells you it's gmod that is.

Because they just only see some noob-ish players did stupid noob-like shit and think Garry's mod is all about that...
I know Garry's mod is cool but just don't have enough time to mess around with it, so I still not get it yet...

You have the dev version?
I preordered one but canceled it. Kinda seems like a waste. $300 for a device that won't even be supported for a full year. I'm about as good at programming as Amanda Bynes is at driving.

Yeah, because I have a game development job. $300 is cheap compared to any other device in the same field. Especially with out of the box support for engines. Why would you need to know programming? Unity is easy enough for amateur developers. Not to mention, you're not looking at it from a developer perspective. The device is the start of the future and having access to it from a very low price is grounds for 'MONEY'. Do you know how expensive console dev kits are? Seriously, $300 is nothing for a dev kit.
Though i'm pretty sure a lot of gamers bought the device not understand its a dev kit...meaning not final.

The April Dev Kits allow for glasses, so no worries there. My company and some old college folks are going to have a little game jam when I get the April Dev Kit. I'm a little split between using Unity or UDK. I have a ton of games developed in Unity, but I'd loved to give it a go with UDK and produce some fine games.
