I'm not listening to anything, because I tripped on my headphone cable like a dumbass and wrecked it. Thankfully the cable detaches for replacement (I have Sennheiser HD-595s) but I'm stuck waiting the few days for the part to arrive. God damn it.

Ha, I found the break in the wire and a direction to bend it to allow it to make a connection while I wait for the new cord to arrive. The break is right at the jack and these particular cans have the standard old style giant jack, so I just taped it in place. Success!

I'm reading a book on the Thirty Years' War and came across this march song that was used by the Finnish cavalry during the war:

A bit different version (don't ask what the German imperial war flag is meant to signify as it's clearly anachronistic):

Doesn't sound bad. It reminds me of some WWII movies from the sixties and seventies.
Btw., I doubt that this composition is more than 150 years old.

Nah, the first 2/3 of it are from the actual war years.

Yes, I could circumvent it, but usually I'm too lazy and just say "Grrr".

Nah, I would not circumvent it either and thanks for the explanation!
So it looks like all of the US and Europe screening what we can access on the 'free' internet. I thought only France, England and the US are into GESTAPO tactics. Posted Image

I think this song fits here

Actually it's Youtube to prevent being sued by the GEMA in Germany. The Gestapo will only come after me if they read my previous post.

Here in Canada (SOCAN) minimum fee to play club music is $1200/yr. Any idea what it works out to in Germany if GEMA wins?

About 100K€/year would force many clubs to close down. The current fees are ridiculously low, however. Most likely they'll meet somewhere in between. Other than just threatening people with maximum demands on fees, a fully fought out lawsuit is quite a risk for the GEMA. In case they'd loose it that would kill a large part of their business foundation.
