Why is there an limit of images per post?
The only reason I can think of is the file size, but if someone is willing to post too many images he could just make multiple posts.

Back in the old days people used to smileybomb bulletin boards, and a 6-8 images-per-post limit has been pretty standard for the last 12 or so years, at least for the boards I've been on.

But in the last 12 years, internet quotas and speeds have greatly increased, so there's no reason to have the limit, especially when everyone always ends up making multiple posts anyway.
Thank you for bringing this up fox, it has been a nuisance every now and then. If Yatta or someone could remove the limit that would make things easier.

Compromise: I upped it from 10 to 30.
It still needs to be manageable, since I can see how it can be used to destroy a page by getting around the character limit.

I'll have to break tradition and give you a +rep for that. I'm sure I'll make up for it somewhere else though

Then I guess an Admin around here has some personal vendetta against me. I couldn't put more than ten in the post thread.

The emoticon is considered an image. Try to place 31 smilies in one post and see what happen
#13 Posted 07 March 2013 - 06:52 AM
Not, it is considered an emoticon. I tried placing lots(20+) of pictures - it worked. Emoticons - not so much. You can of course place emoticon as an image and it will also work.
"You have posted a message with more emoticons that this board allows." vs "Sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to."

I should add, when I add a smilie I use the Emoticons table, I do not type it out.

That's because you use Rich Text Editor.

What editor do you use? A poor text editor?

The first part of my previous question was legit, the second part was a parody to your second statement.
Once more; which editor do you use? Your post shows a shit load of smilies (Emoticons), more I could have shown. Explain!

The first ten were emoticons using ::, the next thirty were linked images using [img][/img]. I guess there is a difference, my bad.
