Meh; this discussion can serve no purpose anymore. Bottomline being that it is possible to replicate that effect in GL, possibly pointless (then again, a lot of things are), but that OP won't believe it until he sees it, which is fair. Please report the classic mode crash or any other problems in the appropriate threads, etc. Thanks!
