I know of no other game were a look in the mirror gives you a health boost Posted Image

This article sucks. I would not be surprised if Halo and FF7 are the only video games this guy has ever played and he just happened to hear about Duke on the news.

Sports?

Edit: You know, I never really got the impression of "male stereotypes" when I played, for instance, Duke Nukem 3D. Kind of makes me wonder how other people interpret the games.

In my opinion duke nukem is number 1 and dante from devil may cry series is number 2. Can't think of any other manly characters.

I think it's funny he felt the need to avoid (in his mind) potential confusion with this.

Quote

1. Duke Nukem (Duke Nukum)

I don't think most people who would have read this article would have played Duke 1. :)

Serious Sam should win because DNF was so insulting to anyones manhood. (technically this should still count since the x360 was released this year :))

The feeling of being a man in games comes from achieving great accomplishments. DNF's idea of a great accomplishment is shooting a giant stationary spaceship that doesn't even shoot at you, from a weak stationary turret, and at the end of the battle despite winning, you get knocked unconscious and not even see any epic explosions or crashes, just a few bits and pieces fall off the ship. What an achievement.

Funny, that. You feel more like a man playing a crowbar-wielding theoretical physicist blowing up a fleet of gunships.

When I play a game I feel like kid, sitting safely behind my desk and pretend to blow up stuff. Posted Image

The writer refers to male stereotypes and not game achievement rewards. Posted Image

@ Burnett - Why?

Because games/characters in the article had nothing to do with 2012.

I still don't get it.
Halo 4, Escape from Mount Stupid and DNF sort of came out in 2012, methinks, at least in Canada Posted Image

Necroslut strikes again. Why the downvote? Is that not the most flamboyant shit you've ever seen? I'm pretty flamboyant myself and I'd be embarrassed to walk around like that.

Necroslut has noting to say, his only way of communicating is by voting.

Which is perfectly fine since that's the point of reputation voting.

I think people who are downvoted have a right to question why.

Just gave you two downvotes Achenar as you seem to be one of the most trigger happy down voters on the forum. So it does seem a bit hypocritical.

That's what happens when you post a negative comment.

How is it negative? Dante is a goddamned pansy. (This is not a comment on the games themselves, I found DMC enjoyable even though Dante is a dork.) This is what a man looks like.
