Portal 2 Meets Duke

On a youtube search I found this:



It has some design issues (like oversized doors and different than the original sizes on some rooms) but overall is a really neat idea.

What do you think??

I found a video of someone exploring a remake of Holywood Holocaust for UT2004.
The map is a bit oversized, but there alot of new areas. Even the items have new models!
Notice the game menu has changed too.

That's very cool! And I'd love to see a map like that in Duke 3D. Unfortunately that map is illegal since it seems to use HRP textures and models (it's probably still illegal even if it only used the original classic textures).

The portal one was less impressive, since it seemed like a pretty bland straight-up remake for the most part.

This is a CS version. Boy, the HRP sure seems to get around...


Oh, and there was at least one UT Duke model. I think it was done by a French guy.

There were a few skins as well for the regular models.

I saw lot of DN3D map that using Doom textures, and lot of Doom maps using DN3D textures. I also think it is illegal, but tolerated, as long you do not claim have made ​​the textures yourself, or make money with them, or other such stupid things...

I already knew about the skin and the voice pack, I was talking about the real 3D model, but I still do not know if it exists (based on the HRP, DNF, or even created from scratch).

But during my research I came across this:
This is the same UT2004 Hollywood Holocaust, but this time using the DN skin, new weapons and....... 2D Monsters! How the hell he did that?


UT2004 is probably the only one game where the DN3D monsters have made a come back in 2D...

Still the best remake of Hollywood Holocaust in any engine that isn't a complete rip off of the original map in my opinion and incorporates other features like playable arcade machines.

It was a dedicated model. It wasn't obviously based off of the UT player model or Parkar's Duke model. Aside from that, Movento has made a Duke model for Nexuiz and a guy called Eddiethegodfather is STILL working on his UT model.

Anzerkree is remaking Hollywood Holocaust on the Cryengine.

I made a map about 4 years ago based on a Duke map for Unreal Tournament. It was pretty... bad.

There's a mod for Serious Sam 3 that replaces the Sam model with the DNF Duke model, as well as all the Sam voice clips with Duke voice clips, which are actually surprisingly relevant to the situation so a lot of work has been put into it. It also introduces Duke gloves and a golden pistol to the HUD, which is a nice touch.
