Really cool interview on Duke's history from silent hero to outspoken pariah.

Interesting to hear him comment on the vocal difference between Duke3D and DNF, since I remember some people complained that he sounded too different.

John says that people didn't like the game because they were expecting Call of Duty and got another Duke3D. While in fact, people didn't like it because they were expecting another Duke3D and got a Call of Duty.
This interviewer guy is lame. The background music is embarrassing.

I don't expect him to know how to make a good Duke game since it never was his job to do that in the first place.
I didn't mind Duke's character in DNF and I really did see where he went with it.
What I didn't like was some of the forced stuff that Duke Nukem had to say or do in the game.
Like I said it before, DNF felt too bent on gratuitous sexual stuff.
It felt more like a Vegas 90's stereotypical porn movie than an action game sequel to Duke 3d...
People were expecting another Duke3d like game and instead they got Call of Dukie..

Wow, you'd think that he'd actually have played DNF and Duke 3D considering how involved he is and how much he sticks up for them, so either he hasn't done that and is blindly defending them, or he is just that clueless..
I wonder if Randy's played the game all the way through from start to finish.

He defends them because that game series has been his most prolific video game gig. He gets good cash money whenever hes brought in, but also he gets more green-meal from fans who want his voice for phone messages/answering machines/prank calls. Etc...

Randy claimed to have done so before DNF was released. That's where we got some of the initial remarks about the length of the final game.

Randy also claimed that "DNF will have secret levels" and "all the stuff that made DN3D fun".
While the latter is typical marketing mumbo jumbo the former is simply a lie.

Doesn't even have secret AREA's either. So it's not like he could mistake it.

Was it Randy who said that there will be secret levels? I thought it was that other guy who was always next to him in interviews.
