Favorite Duke Ad

Anyone have a favorite Duke ad or piece of press?

Mine since I was a kid was this ad for Time to Kill and DNF. I know it's not supposed to be his family, but I always thought it would be hilarious to meet Duke's family in a game.

Either way the ad is just hilariously ridiculous.

This ad was from issues of PC gamers that I had IIRC, but I lost them ages ago so I'm not 100% certain.

Hmmm... I always kind of liked that commercial for Zero Hour where Duke and some random "bad guy" type of cowboy are going to duel, and then Duke pulls out a huge futuristic cannon looking thing and the bad guy pisses himself. That one was a good one.

I also have an affinity for this ad for Total Meltdown and Duke 64, it was in a lot of GamePros I had in the '97s. I always thought it looked pretty rad. I had Duke3D at the time for PC, so when I looked at the Duke 64 screens, and the preview article later on in the magazine I was enthralled at how different it looked.

Sadly I couldn't get it haha, I snuck Duke 3D past my mom, but couldn't get lucky twice with Duke64.

Haha I remember that one. Yeah not DNF's best moment, but I guess he could give the Cycloid Emperor pink eye with that. xD

I remember back then I was still thinking about getting a Playstation, and this commercial was one of the biggest influences for me to go out and get one.

Heh, I have the same art from that "he's coming to get some" magazine ad as a huge cardboard poster from EB from the 90's. I think the thing is 28x22 or thereabouts... I framed it and hung it over my computers. It's pretty badass.

This commercial is definetely the most hilarious. Crazy japs.

In my country sadly there were no Duke commercials broadcasted by tv ever.

I've always found that Duke art for Zero Hour to be immensely badass, pretty much what I'd imagine Duke would look like in real life. Val Kilmer in his prime years.

Ah that's a sweet commercial. That would have made me want to get a PSX as well, but I never saw it haha. I had an N64 anyway.

Ah yeah haha that Duke on the PC gamer cover always struck me as kinda ugly, but it did get me excited or DNF back when I was a kid.

That Zero Hour ad is very cool too, great game.

Man, all these ads really remind you how great the character and games were. 3D Realms dropped the ball big time.

Nice to see this stuff. I never got to watch or read any commercials here. When I first heard of Duke 3D it was already banned from the shelves and therefore became the very first item I ever bought online.

That Planet of the Babes trailer is pretty cool. Hopefully someday the franchise will be back at the level it was in those times, with half a dozen different games coming out on every platform there was.

Haha that magazine cover with Duke standing on the N64 is pretty badass, I never saw that one before.

Also, Tomb Raider 64 and Street Fighter 64, wish we could have actually gotten those.

That song "Thing I Hate" by Stabbing Westward fits perfectly in Time to Kill. Stabbing Westward was one of my favorite band's in the 90's. Sucks that they've broken up.

Anyways, here's an Redneck Rampage ad I found amusing and made me crack a smile. Albeit it isn't related to Duke Nukem but runs on the same Build engine as Duke Nukem 3D.
