With a game like ours you want as big of a community playing the same game on day one as possible. By opening our multiplayer up to ANYONE who buys the game ANYWHERE we're giving ourselves the best chance to do that. I was skeptical at first, but I think in the end it makes the most sense given our DRM free, consumer focused approach to developing games.

Also, if you play on Steam you still get the Steam overlay and Steam achievements and Steam Community Hub and STEAM TRADING CARDS!!!!1

I understand, but I was speaking not about multiplayer itself, but community features. Of course MP should be included in every version of a game.

Another bit of good news is that Frederick is trolling me regarding Pathfinder.

If I was there during those 30 seconds I would have had him, but the info I got out of the pic is that Apogee is confirmed to be involved with Pathfinder and that production on it has begun.

2013 is going to rock so hard. Shadow Warrior HD, the NEW Shadow Warrior game, THIS, Wolfenstein... where will I take all the time needed for these potential new classics? xD

Fuck, that's after my holidays. Nice going Dave!

At least the game looks awesome and intense, with some nice modern touches to it. Then again I'm only watching the trailer on my phone, and I'll be keeping an eye out for upcoming reviews.

Edit: Nightfright what Shadow Warrior HD are you talking about?

I got the trailer from ROTT's forums. The guy who got it there got it from Green Man Gaming's page so I'm guessing it went up a little too soon so that's why the Steam pre-order isn't up yet.

Thanks, just my impatience to get this game ASAP. And the trailer was superb; no OD-ing on dramatic pre-rendered scenes and 'bad-ass' VO tropes, just straightforward concentrated action.

Yes, that's the track for the final credits, done by Andrew's band - Burying the Trend.

Ah, I was referring to the re-release of the original SW by Devolver Digital (NOT the "Classic" version you can currently get for free on Steam), just like they did with Megaton for Duke3D. I think they actually call it "Classic Redux" now, it seems. Its release should be quite imminent according to the latest dev tweets. :)

Steam pre-order has just been placed. You guys had me convinced with the first screenshots already. It's exactly what it should be: A product made by fans for fans. That's why you have my confidence, even more so because icons like Lee Jackson are supporting you. I wish you a lot of success with the launch, and I sincerely hope we haven't seen the last of you guys. Thanks in advance already for bringing back this little gem of a game which would have deserved a lot more attention when it was initially released back in 1995!

Just four weeks to go to refresh all our memories! ^^
