So I am making a third map and I need some ideas and criticism but put in mind that I cant script things and that and I dont know how to since I started mapping in mapster32 one week ago max!!

I cant upload screenshots because I cant do it on eduke32 trought fraps from some odd reason I think or something... I dont know how to took snapshot/screenshot in DN3D/eDuke32 ... Must see it in options later...

Here is the download, put screenshots, most of map is currently empty and that... It isnt huge ... One part of map is done well and filled with sprites so please post some screenshots of my map if you can/want !

Thank you alot if you are going to test it and suggest some things ...!!

Heres the download(WIP 0.1):

Why you not upload it here as attachment? Just zip your map and attach it here, and maybe better idea is to first look at the keyboard configuration than make excuses :D
You can take pictures in game and mapster by pressing f12.
Good idea is to change these pictures to jpg format :D

ps: Im cant download it either. .

iamloner, I love that you're learning to map, but while you're still in the learning phase of mapping, can you perhaps post all your test maps and incomplete maps in one thread? The people here are willing to help you learn, but they don't like it when the threads they create with large, finished maps, and other threads where large, quality maps are in progression are pushed down by newcomers making a new thread each time they have a new small map to show off. I'm not having a go at you; other people have done this recently as well, which makes it all the more important to nip it at the bud. You're ok for now, but please dont' make a new thread for your 4th map, at least not until it's finished Posted Image

Having said that, I looked at the map, it was a bit uneasy when the map was only 4kb (by comparison, the vast majority of maps these days are over 500kb and most are closer to 1000kb). So looking at the map in mapster, it only has one small room, and a lot of empty space. It's very hard for us to criticize what you've done, when you haven't done anything for us to criticize! :D

Nevertheless, I did criticize that one room you did, which can be seen in the image below:

Other comments:
The scaling is good, in fact, those cubicles are the tiniest bit too small, but don't worry about that. Shading is going to be your weak point based on what I've seen so far from your work. Don't underestimate shading; it can make the dullest, emptiest maps look full, exciting and dynamic. Another thing I'd recommend to you is to have height variation. Rooms need to be different sizes rather than everything having the same floor and same ceiling. Make some stairs, some lifts or something which take the player to rooms which are higher than other rooms, and make it so that the player can see the rooms below from the rooms above with some windows to him a sense of location and progression. In fact, put in lots of windows even if you can't actually look out them (fake windows) which would help fill up empty wall space, and don't forget to put in lots of lights on the ceiling (the light textures are near the top).

But try doing a decent amount of work before asking people for criticism. The more you do, the more people will be able to help.

Edit: AndI just realized something, you're not planning to make the map only as big as the empty space you've put in there have you? Posted Image That's tiny!!! Your map needs to be like 10 times bigger than that. Otherwise there is no point in releasing it, because no one's going to play it. Even the pro mappers can hardly get away with making something so small.

Yea, thx for criticism...

Well I currently dont know how to make doors, even swinging ones... IDK how to put a mirror...

I know its currently empty and small, well at beggining you begin with little things and as time passes you are going towards big and then huge things, anyway tips would be helpfull and links of tutorials for mapping in mapster32 !

I am busy with some things, I could afford alot of time in mapping if I dint had few F in few things in high school...

I have been better in map editor for doom... When it was about shading... Currently I am doing alot of things and also I need to first put alot of things then shading...

If you're asking for links to tutorials, these are highly recommended (I might have posted them before but they're so good I'll post them again anyway):

Best mapping guide ever (do not underestimate!). Very organised, very easy to read and understand, illustrated and colour coded, has everything you need to dive into mapping:
http://infosuite.duke4.net/index.php

A text document that can really help you speed up your mapping by explaining time-saving shortcuts and techniques, it assumes you've already read the above guide, and it also has a touch of extra stuff as well (I edited it just then to make the headings stand out more and hence easier to read):
https://docs.google....S4ieZWWWTw/edit

If you ask a question and the answer is already in one of those two guides we're going to come getcha Posted Image

Another good site is the official wiki. It doesn't have anything on mapping that the above two guides already have, but is a good reference nonetheless:

To be honest, no one is going to want to play anything made by a new mapper until he's usually about 6 months deep.
