MF Global.

Do you live under a cock, I mean rock?

And no, this thread isn't flamebait. But that last sentence was .

I love this comment: "he has to live with his mistake . . . . living in new jersey"

"God must be dead if you're alive."

Those made me laugh so hard I coughed up phlegm.

New Jersey. When you aren't good enough to live in New York...

Actually, the second one is from a Dead Kennedys song. But yeah, New Jersey blows, it has all the negatives of Louisiana with none of the positives like gumbo and crawfish.

The biggest positive of living in New Jersey in being in an area near New York City.

I think that says a lot.

It's really not that bad of a state. It just sucks compared to New York, but so do most states.

If by "under a rock" you mean "not in USA" then yes.

You confuse me with that business, Descent.

Was there supposed to be a video up there, because I don't see shit. Posted Image

If you go to quote his post you will see the link.
Not that it's an interesting video if you live outside of the USA.
In fact it really makes no sense to me and the adds they play in my country to try force you to wear a seatbelt are a million times more graphic.

Wow, you guys didn't hear about the MF Global collapse in Europe?

Corzine was charge of it when it failed back in November. Over 1.2 billion dollars in client funds were stolen immediately prior to the collapse.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't have posted this otherwise. I thought that made international news!

To be fair I don't watch/read news. My main sources are DailyShow/ColbertReport and, apparently, duke4.net forums.

Why is it I love being drunk, then somehow stumbling upon this thread and expecting an awesome discussion? Damn you guys.

"Note: You guys might have to get use to this? I'm a horrible alcoholic!"

Edit: I think we need a drunk thread!

Now, that is the worst proof that God doesn't exist I've ever seen...and I've been on gaming forums for a decade.

Let's name it "Blunts, cunts, and 4Loko."

Although considering our community we'd have like four posts.

In two thousand years people will be debating the existence of George Washington, MLK, and Gandhi.

I'm no so sure. There's much more sophisticated and reliable means of documenting the lives of those people, but that isn't even really the point.

It's been two thousand years since Alexander the great, Caesar Augustus, King Herod and Aristotle died, but AFAIK there's no appreciable level of debate over whether or not any of those people existed. Course if I'm wrong, feel free to enlighten me, but I think Jesus is a special case, here. Doubt comes with the territory when the historical figure in question is shrouded in claims of walking on water, healing the dead, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm not necessarily saying it's stupid to think such a person existed, but it's not stupid to be skeptical either.

I see your point and even they have crazy stories published about them distorting history, though. People are still taught Alexander the Great descended from a Greek god and George Washington had wooden teeth. Myths like walking on water or throwing a silver dollar across the Potomac are what people seem to remember most. Then we become skeptical about what they actually did or if they are a total fabrication. It doesn't matter if they find a body, either. There's debates going on about the existence of King Tutankhamun years after digging up his tomb.

But back to Jesus Christ, there's more evidence he existed as a real person than let's say King Arthur or Robin Hood.

As Mad Max RW says I think there has been some "scientific" research done into that he existed. But don't quote me on that.

My short drunken story is that: (warning content may offend you religious folk)

There is more evidence for the existence of Jesus than of William Shakespeare.

What a fucked up thread! So we are talking another US Get-rich-Quick down the tubes, Jesus or any given god?

What has the codex got to do with Jesus? - Tacitus, a Roman Historian and Senator did write that Jesus was executed by the Prefect ( Pilate). Yes, yes, there are counter arguments that Tacitus was, ehmm, hoodwinked by Christians, still this is one evidence that Jesus may have actually existed.

It's also written that Pilate let a known insurrectionist off the hook in favor of icing Jesus, despite it being later established that Pilate didn't think Jesus had done anything wrong. That's just a tad bit unlikely. Most historical accounts that put Jesus in a realistic time-frame either have kooky improbabilities like that, or they still have no evidence of ever having happened (Herod's massacre of the innocents for example...)

^ I only know that story from the bible. - I don't defend the biblical accounts; only saying, that there is a good chance Jesus did exist.

A joke right? It was in response to 'Jesus has more evidence of existence than shakespeare and I was just saying the Codex, or 'Shakespeare's Journal sarcastically isn't more proof of his existence than the evidence of Jesus.

Anyways, if people start to take this thread seriously, then holy hell you are all idiots.....oh wait. Too late.
