[The Commander]

Anyone that has Garry's mod join this. (This post is WIP)

Welcome to The Commanders UnderDone Server.

This is one of the best gamemodes Garry's Mod has, hence the reason you joined this server.
You might have never played UnderDone before so that is why you are looking at this menu right now.
This gamemode is similar to RolePlay, as in that it is an RPG style gamemode.
You can choose from a range of quests to do, ranging from getting wood, killing zombies to taking out the combine.
The choice is up to you if you do this all on your own, or you can team up with your friends and create a squad to
make the quests easier and share your XP (Experience Points)

How to get started:
To start out, you can change your player model by talking to Alyx/Faith.
Secondly, you should equip some items onto your character from your inventory, this can be done from the "Q" menu.
As a new player you are given a few items to start out with: some cash, two health kits, an "Axe" and a "Junky Pistol"
with some ammo to go with it.

To equip items you need to click and drag them to the appropriate item slot on the right. Either place the "Axe" or "Junky Pistol"
into the primary weapon slot. If you have equiped the gun you will need to load it, this can be done by double clicking
your ammo in the inventory.
You can also place weapons, ammo and items in to the quick select boxes located at the very bottom of the screen.
Then you can press the corresponding number key to equip, reload or use that item.

Special Note: Later on you will gain shields that go in the "Off Hand" slot, it should be noted from early on that you
can not hold a shield and a gun at the same time. Shields can only be used with melee type weapons.

Skills:
On the "Character" tab in the "Q" menu you can access Skill upgrades.
Each time you gain a level you are given a "skill" point to spend on a upgrade, you are given one to start off with.
You can only select one from "Tier 1" so make sure you choose it depending on the style you will be playing for.
In other words, if you like melee choice something suited to that.

Quests:
As a new player Dr. Kleiner will give you some simple tasks to start off with to gain some needed XP.
Read what the quest is carefully, as once you have a accepted a quest you can not turn it in till it is complete.

Special Note: If Dr. Kleiner gives you a book (Learn to cook / Learn to craft) right click the book and click use.
DO NOT TRY TO SELL THE BOOK OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FINISH THE QUEST AND YOU WILL NEED TO RESET YOUR PLAYER!

Crafting:
After reading certain books you will be able to "Craft" objects.
You can find the "crafting" menu by clicking the "Library" book on the right hand side of the weight bar in your inventory.
For example, to craft "Cooked Meat" you would stand near a fire (fire kit) and select "Cooking Meat" from the crafting menu.
Provided you have read the book and have cans of uncooked meat.

Yeah, I think a lot of people believe that Garry's Mod is just some sandbox game where you go place random NPC's and items around a map.
But it is more than that allowing for multiple game modes.

I have removed the Stranded server in favour of UnderDone.
After several days of having both up, UnderDone came out the winner as it was 10x more popular with the amount of traffic it generated.

I can not have both servers up as I don't want to hog all of DanM's bandwidth.

OK, a couple of things.

tblEquipmentSet.Items[2] = "weapon_melee_atlas"
You have not put the weapon details for this in.

Secondly and most importantly,
Item = AddStats(Item, "slot_chest", 301)
Item = AddBuff(Item, "stat_maxhealth", 160)
AddBuff(tblEquipmentSet, "stat_strength", 250)

Buffs like this aint happening, this is what screwed up the game in the first place with the other armour sets, this makes it way too OP.

I will adjust these and the prices correctly.

Buffs should work in values such as +5 not 250 strength.

I realised those buffs won't happen (duh) but they needed to be changed to what you think you need them to be and

Ok fair enought. If they see errors with NPC its most likely they dont have a Steam game. With the lagg issuse i understand. Is it possible to add say 2 new NPC then? Just for a little test with say umm new weapons and armor or maby quest also new items or something.

I will add more when I get time, I do have a full time job which takes priority over this game.

The Book Shops NPC name is DeeperThought.
DeeperThought = Knows a lot of information.
Books = Knowledge
