Obviously any midi music doesn't qualify as modern.

No? So can Amiga game music can hold better over midi?

Obviously not midi, but the Amiga always had better sound over the PC.
I was trying to find the PC theme, but no one seems to have uploaded it because it sounds so shitty, closest you could get would be the Mega Drive/Genesis theme.

Irrelevant. No one would qualifiy Amiga music as modern whether it sounds better than midi music or not.

Certainly one of my favorites for Mass Effect 2.

All Mass Effects have amazing soundtracks.

But this, along with the Illusive Man theme, is my favorite by far. I get major chills when this track hits as Shepard begins to ascend:

Might as well put the Illusive Man theme here as well:

Martin Sheen really nailed that role!

I like that ME used electronic music since I'm getting sick of strictly orchestral stuff in many games/movies. That Catalyst theme is an ambient awesomeness.

Anyway... Tales Of Vesperia.

A cut song from the BM soundtrack, reminds me of Unreal a bit:

Also, nuclear mission jam still counts because it's used in HL2 and EP2.

I'm surprised that no one posted Red Alert 3 OST. I personally find this my number 1 favourite game soundtrack.

Yeah those RA3 tracks are pretty good (as is the game), particularly the first one.

Anyways, here's a dance remix of a classic Unreal track that I just found amazing:

Final Fantasy XIII prelude turns to shit at 1.30 but the build-up until then is awesome:

The best boss battle theme since VII, fits perfectly with the game's fast-paced, intense boss battles (easily the best in the series):

Battlefield 3 Premium Launch:

Haven't heard it in the game though, it's probably from the single-player campaign which I haven't played yet.

This was one of my favorites, but somebody remastered it so technically it would work in a newer game

I still love it just as much
