DNF sexual content (minor spoilers)  "Disappointing"

I finished DNF (took around 8 hours no rushing).
I'm not complaining that its to short, nor that the lack gore. But I am complaining on how the sexuality is just one big tease.

Example:
1. In almost all the trailers you see the twins almost kiss before in cuts to another scene. In the game, they don't even kiss (or anything else). Some alien shows up and scares them and they disappeared.

2. Another is that in one of the levels, your promised a lap dance if you collected a number of items... The lap dance barely last 5 seconds.

Is it just me, or would you expect more from a Duke Nukem game?

They said this was as close to Ao as possible, I'm positive that statement has changed.

Can't speak for others ... but after DN3D I don't expect much sexual content of a Duke Nukem game ... because in DN3D you only had one or the other stripper here and there, a few bikini babes and a dominatrix standing around. Probably 1 or 2 % at the very max of the whole game.

It is only that the young ones made such a huge fuzz about it in DN3D and that 2K knew how to market DNF to them by pointing at something that might give them their first erections.

When I want sexuality I go to the bedroom with my wife or to the intarwebs.

Duke Nukem 3D was far less sexual than DNF. Actually, I think they maybe went a bit too far with this one: sexiness was just a part of the dirty DN3D world, this time it actually tries to be titillating.

Yep. It isn't subtle anymore and lacks the wit and ironic humour of the original. Ok, it is still in here and there, but most is just titillating, as you put it.

And, well, I think The Hive is what got them close to AO.

There was definitely more sex in this than in Duke3D, in a good way. The twins give you a blowjob so I wouldn't complain about lack of kissing. The lapdance would've been just awkward if it had lasted longer.

DNF is the only Duke game that even has nudity, unless you count the Japanese statue in Duke3D episode 3.

Yeah after playing the game,I can say that they took almost everything sexy the game had to offer and added it to the trailer.
By the emphasis nude/sexy takes on the trailer one would think that the game has many sexual moments, even if the only slightly sexual moments in the game are on the 2nd level in Duke's mansion with the twins, and on the strip club later.
But I'm not going to whine about that.
Sexyness was the least that I expected form DNF.

And despite all that, there's still 10x more sexual stuff in DNF than DN3D.

Honestly I don't care, what I expected was a decent Ego system (I really liked DN:MP health system), Duke carring at least 3 or 4 weapons instead of only 2 and the Might Boot - its poorly used in DNF and even Duke Plus ("only" a mod of duke 3D) uses it a lot better. The nudity was not necessary but I don't mind it being in the game either. (If I want porn stuff I can search on the internet, pretty simple).

Just to say something good about DNF, I liked the map design somehow and it have some cool action sequences.

as for me I only disliked the lap "dance" session as it ended with... duke sucking tits, or something. Why did I collect a condom? Totally unnecessary, no bonus no nothing. THe whole club was tad disappointing, the pole dancer was kind of bad. Oh well...

Duke Nukem was never about intense sex if you want that download a hentia game or something hehe. Duke 3d just had topless women and that is pretty much it.

When going through the airduct I noticed them making a video in one room. With one twin laying on the bed caressing herself and the other filming this.

Yeah what happened to mo-capped strippers? Even the stripper in the 2001 trailer looked better.

Fully agreed.

A lot of people are overplaying the nature of Duke3D's sexual content; it was mostly benign innuendo, where DNF has been advertised form last September as a kindergarten level smutfest.
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't speak well for the state of game journalism when so many previews and reviews claim that "Duke is still the same as he always was".
Duke3D's tone felt tongue-in-cheek, but DNF's approach is embarrassingly crude and unwitty; those Holsom twins for example are simply groan worthy (and not the good kind).

This comparison about sums it up:

With anything more it would have needed an 'R' rating. Plus all the BS that would go along with it (like GTA4 did in Australia)

If you look at some (or all) of the trailers, they really advertise the sex's parts like there amazing before fading off to another scene. Seems disappointing that there nothing more then what you see in the trailer in-game.

Which of those is DNF? :dukecry:

But you are right, Duke3D was less overt. Sure, there was the porn shop and all that but it left pretty much everything to the imagination. From what all you guys are saying and what I've seen of the game through previews etc, as well as other marketing crap, it is clear the target audience and the lack of wit. Maybe they just all got tired of being witty and wanted to just finish the game.

Another reason to wait the price to drop! :dukecry: (Yep, I still don't own the game, actually I only played the first levels in a friend's house).
I have no hurry anymore, I think I'll wait for a good price reduction for the game and it's future DLCs.

I agree, the start was pretty good, but it got fast ans somewhat boring near the end. Gearbox or 2K just want this game out and will most-likely release everything else in DLC or patches.

I wouldn't mind waiting another 5 months or so, if it meant a better game.
