That's nice to know :(. I'd recommend looking at the music section MUS_LenomanGrabbag, I like it, it's kickass to me. I wonder how long it's going to take before some mods come out for it...

I'm afraid nothing will come from this, similar ini files editing thing exists for Bulletstorm (there's even dedicated text editor), but not really many things can be changed. I tweaked some graphics, FOV and made it skip the normally unskippable video at the beginning of the game with logos.

So far I see nothing that's really editable though. You can change the hints at the load screen, which is funny. Few other very minor things. Nothing useful, though.

Is there a way to bind the FOV change command to a button?

Does anyone know a way to unpack the .dir files that contain the static meshs and skeleton files? I've opened them with a hex editor and I can get file names, but I have no idea how to actually un pack them. I've tried renaming them to a few well-known compressed file types but no joy.

I do not know to which did you meant you tried , but bulletstorm has ecrypted INIs which need some external tools to be able to edit the game's settings.

There are more editor related files there, I hope it's hidden somewhere and soon will be found or even better, coming with the game at the time of release.

It was already confirmed as NOT shipping with the game.

It may just not be shipping 'officially', you just maybe need to run it using console or something. I believe the editor files there aren't withut any purpose.

DNF is running on the UE 2.5 engine, which has the editor as a separate .exe. Borderlands uses UE 3, which has the editor built into the game .exe, which is why you're able to activate it in the first place. There's no sign of DNF's editing .exe, so don't expect to be able to do some serious editing anytime soon.

Some of the files still have 3D Realms copyright information. One section is an update script or something that even seems to have a link to a 3DR url for game updates.

So, if we can't get access to the files, then, as Han Solo said, this is going to be a real short trip as far as modding is concerned.

Regarding DNF? Still haven't found it. Bulletstorm? I think it was StormGame or Engine.

DNF needs SSE to run properly, maybe that's the explanation.
