I actually haven't listened to his material yet. Some bands in my AOR playlist include Harem Scarem, Strangeways, and Red Dawn.

I gave a quick listen to a few Harem Scarem songs on youtube. I like it. Very similar to a lot of Jeff Scott Soto's stuff. He does ballads, melodic rock and the heavier stuff. He is one of the busiest singers out there with a discography of over 60 albums across at least 9 or 10 bands and solo stuff. He's on a lot of metal tribute albums too. He started with Yngwie Malmsteen back in 1985 and has been going non stop. Sometimes recording and touring with more than one band at a time. Has been with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for a number of years. With probably more than 500 songs released, not counting the live stuff he has done with bands other than his own, its hard to pick just one. Tiny backstory:
I made BUILD.EXE maps from 97-99 in Shadow Warrior. I was a Total Entertainment Network user at the time.. If anyone recognizes that service we're best friends by default ●‿● Also, I am very new to Discord so excuse my messes in advance.
My undergrad was in philosophy my master was in Informatics. Informatics is a less obsolete way of saying New Media. It's been 10 years so my knowledge is all worthless now. I'm over it as my failings in youth were mostly due to my undiagnosed organ problem. So NOW I'm increasing my confidence and doing what I want to do (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ I should also say I'm recovering from a toxic marriage/divorce that made me literally restart life. Again, its cool no eggshells here; I've finally started to actually like myself. I'm a huge trophy junky; my original Xbox account had over 110k Gamerscore in 2009 then I moved to PlayStation. Recently I've decided to just do both major consoles. I'm not a fan of "badges" so Nintendo is usually just emulated.
Soooooo, I have 0 knowledge of this new BUILD.exe but the years I played Shadow Warrior were some of my best years. Back then a 1mb map was almost too large to send to a friend over instant messages because only the cool people had 56kb modems lol. Presently it must be like having infinite memory. History with Duke Nukem 3D and the BUILD Engine: I started playing Duke Nukem when my dad introduced it to me back in 1997, and after getting the Atomic Edition (Plutonium Pak) and discovering the BUILD map editor system, I became interested in building my own maps. I've been getting into it for many years, and after going through many PCs, I still work on maps, despite being an amateur at it. I've been looking into making a game mod using Duke as the base for it.

Hello there. I'm currently plotting out a retro FPS mod total conversion. Mulling over whether I'm going to use GZDoom or EDuke as the base. I worked with EDuke a bit in 2019 but I need to look it over to see if it supports all the base features I want for my project.

I guess to give a little more insight about myself I am no stranger to modding Duke Nukem 3D. I actually learned most of basic programming skill modding Duke CON files and Hexen ACS scripts. Here's footage of a Wolfenstein mod I made back in 1997 using vanilla Duke Atomic Edition (No source ports):

More recently I tinkered around with Alien Armageddon to create some of my own addon content. Including this mostly complete total conversion of DOOM. What I most like about it is I used a manual palette conversion process to make a much cleaner adaption from DOOM to Duke's palette (I cheated with the pinkys by using trucolor sprites). I also managed to hack in DOOM style monster infighting by tinkering around with AA's faction based AI:



But that is all for now. I'll be uploading some art assets I made for Duke on the appropriate topic in a little bit.

Most of what I wanted is there. I plan to use a custom palette so I suppose I need to finalize the palette I've made being unless I'm missing something I'm going to have to manually build a blendtable.

Does it have any support for custom shaders? I didn't find any clear answers from what I've skimmed through thus far. If not no big deal, I only had plans for some minor shader effects (A waterfall effect and a few other things).

Ah, just had to run my custom PALETTE.DAT through that ancient transpal utility to generate a blendtable. Thank goodness for DOSBox.


Also is there a limit to how many times a day new members can edit their posts? Because my option to do so seems to have vanished.
