I think I'll film myself to see my reactions and maybe record my first gameplay too with Fraps. ;)

Also I will take my time to explore, this is a game to stop and smell the roses.

I'll play for maybe two hours at first, then order pizza. This will be the first break, which will take around an hour. Then I'll continue playing for a few more hours, then another break, maybe consisting of a bit of jogging or something and then a shower. Then I'll probably play the rest. I don't expect the game to take more than 7-8 hours.

Why should I assume it's longer than that? It could be but I don't expect it to be. Of the recent shooters I have played only Bioshock and STALKER have exceeded 8 hours.

More like, stop and smell scorched earth as I don't see too many places where roses could grow in this game.

Didn't Randy say the game's the size of three CoD games (time-wise)? That was one of his earlier interviews where he said that. I'll try to find it.

Well, we should assume there's a bit of exaggeration there, he's expected to whore out the game after all. So, even if DNF were equal to the size of two CoD games, that'd make it an 8-hour game.

It all depends on how fast you play I guess, and how thorough you are. Any game can be finished in a dozen or so hours if one speedruns.

if memory serves he was also very obviously drunk during that interview, so I take that statement with a grain of salt.

Hah, you'd have to be a snail if a speedrun took you a dozen hours!

I meant for a game that normally takes 40 hours...on speedrun it'd be like 12 or less.

After getting over the bewilderment of finally owning the game, I'll settle down with 8 beers, turn off phone and then put the disc in, check for any updates before switching off the net and proceed to be on the edge of my seat. I'm got gonna hurry it, but I'm not going to search for secrets on the first play through either. I'll hopefully have finished it twice before the 24th hour as this is MP time. I'll be on that for a few hours too before falling asleep with a mile wide grin.

Why would you use a 40-hour game as an example when we're talking about first person shooters?

Im gonna download it from steam, so with my rubbish net connection I will be sat playing the demo untill it downloads haha. When the game installs im going straight for single player, Iv always been a lover of single player games. Couple of redbulls, some sort of unhealthy crap to eat and im good for a great 8-10 hour sitting. Unless im at work haha.
