How long do they take you to make?

Well the material takes a day per copy to get hard and then there's a couple hours of re attaching the limbs. And of course there's the whole "painting" it business that I don't know yet how long it will take per copy. Since it involves several layers of paint to get different effects like veins, wetness, etc...

Have you already thought about the price? just curious. I guess if you paint them with an airbrush they could easily be sold at $500.

500 is too much, it's going to be a lot less than that ;).

And yes it will be painted with both brushes and airbrush.

Hello guys, new update.

Here I'm going to make the four big tentacles that are attached to the big rock formation. I start with long pieces of clay.

Posted Image

Then I add 2 more pieces to have 3 total on each tentacle. Then I try to blend them together to make one piece.

Here are the 4 tentacles done:

Now on to add a bit of detail to them:

Posted Image

Now I use turpentine to smooth out the rough edges:

Posted Image

Next step is to add parasites or mini tentacles of some kind to make it seem like it's spreading around. Here I use long pieces of clay again to make those. Then I adhere the tentacles at the same time I push it on the "rocks" with a pointy rounded tool.

Posted Image

End result after smoothing with turpentine:

Here I'm going to boil the poor bastard, at this point I don't need the hook anymore so I removed it and put some clay in there to cover up the hole:

Boiled piece after Cool down. Now I only need to sand some roughness on some parts.

I hope you guys liked this update. Next step is Mold Making.

I would totally buy one if I had the money. My budget, however, is super tight lately.

Heh, whenever you guys want one or are able to get one, I'll just make a new copy and that's it :D

Besides I'm making a smaller and cheaper version of another enemy while I'm waiting for more silicone to arrive ;) Guys wanna guess who?

Update!:

Here I'm making the little bed for the part to rest on (it's also the height of the other half of silicone)

Posted Image

I've smoothed out the surface and made some marks so that the other half of silicone will get properly secured when I want to make a copy.

I've used foam to restrict the silicone.

Posted Image

Started doing the same with the base but since it's flat I don't have to make a clay bed for it.

Posted Image

Done.

Posted Image

All the first 3 ready to have silicone poured in:

Posted Image

Silicone has set in 24 hs. I turned everything upside down and removed the beds of clay. After cleaning everything this is the result. Now I have to make a little film of vaseline on top and then pour silicone again. The vaseline is to avoid the new silicone from sticking to the other half.

Posted Image

As for the base I need to pour a bit more silicone on top since I ran out of silicone and it left an uneven surface, this isn't good for when I have to make copies of it, it has to be perfectly flat to avoid distortion when placing it on the table.

Is ok, I will take two please... seeing as some others haven't spoken up yet. : )
You know that old saying "Give Credit where credit is due..." well when it comes to Duke Nukem, I adjust it a bit to "Use Credit where Credit is the only option..." or something along those lines. Darnit! My Duke Nukem Credit Cards are expired!

Will you maybe take Duke Nukem Cash?

Yeah They're very good, there's one sculptor here in Argentina that works for SS.

They are some amazing pieces, got the battle damaged t-800 the other day and one of their best pieces to date. Your doing a damn fine job yourself

You could probably easily sell duke head sculpts with red singlets and the belt / sunnies to work with HT bodys and parts. Jeans are easy to get and boots, heh i tried to make a duke

I don't like using someone else's work for my sculptures, I like to make them completely myself, although I know that some people make customs with pieces from other people for their own use, but you can't sell customs as it's illegal.

yeah not something mass produced but just offered as a custom job, have seen sets being sold though ebay that convert existing joker models into a "nurse" joker model.
