I just found out that 90% of back-up cds, written with CyberLink can't be read. Yes, I should have checked this, but so far I never needed them.
I am not gonna open a new topic, I either get lucky here or I don't. Question: Other then Cypershit, what's a good and dependable CD burner? OK DVD burner?

Are you sure it was the software you burned them with and not the media itself? I have had problems reading old DVDs and CDs that were burned several years ago and I have found out that it is the media or my reader's firmware not the way it was burned.

The dvds were written, in my office, three month ago, to back up my back up. Now I wanted to tests our server, and most of the DVD can't be read. Even two DVDs in the office; one is readable and the other isn't. What pisses me off, is that CyberLink opened a message box stating, the DVD is OK, after it checked its own burn process.

are you using the same program (or is the same program on the computer) you are using to read them as you did to burn them?

i had a similar issue with some other burning software; i burnt discs using one computer, took them to other computers (with an equal or greater type of cd drive), & couldn't read them. took the disks back to the original computer and it could read them fine. found out it took a computer with the same burning software on it to read them because of the way it wrote the info to the disks.

Nah, the DVDs were burned at the lowest speed, just to make sure most comps can read the files. Posted Image

the program i use (magiciso) is pretty outdated, but i've never had a problem with it. there's probably alot better out there, but i don't know much about what each suite is capable of anymore. nero used to be good when they started, but got too bloated after awhile, so i have no idea what they're like now. You should probably web search it and do research to get the features and dependability you want (same if you need to recover the data on those disks).

Just got my haircut. A big deal because I get them about every 1 1/2 to 2 years. It was past my shoulders last week. Because of how thinned out its getting I like the short look better. Its just that it takes so many random factors to align to get it cut. One day I'll have the time but not the money when I drive past the barber. Or I'll have the money but not enough time. Or too many people waiting ahead of me. Or on days that I probably had the time and the money it didn't cross my mind to get the haircut. Life is tough. :)

I normally get mine once every 2 months or so. I know some guy at work who gets his every 2 weeks.

There are always cats with Jeff on pictures. :)

I'm probably going for the ponytail again. Haven't got it in ages. But we'll see, since I always get a haircut all of a sudden when I'm not planning it.

I recommend that one too.

Magiciso is good for hacking ISO files, but I never burned anything with it.

Cosmo clings to me like masking tape. Has been like that since he was younger.

Chilling out with a nice cold coke with ice, on a bright day in the backyard totally quite and peaceful. I love life when I get moments like this. :)

You can't say this ride isn't interesting. :)

I guess I was just a sheep following the flock. I saw Jeff's pic and haircut announcement and it happened to be my situation too so I mindlessly posted.

I don't have a camera to take a picture and I'm not going to bother with a camcorder. Right now I look like shit anyway.
