I was at school. Junior high is the best time to experience a terrorist attack:

I remember when NATO started to bomb Yugoslavia(or Kosovo or whatever, don't remember/care) I thought "The was is coming!". For me it felt like WW3 was about to begin.

Yes, I remember this also, and to this day I think Clinton dropped bombs on the hear say from questionable sources but with the NATO support; and by pure coincidence CNN changed from a Monica to an insignificant military foe. It was like killing a fly with a pistol, totally unnecessary to clean house in Kosovo. Since then CNN and Clinton are my official swear words. And WW3 could have began, but no one cared about the injustice in Kosovo.

Hardly anyone in America cares about injustice anywhere, even on our home soil. This is why we cannot have nice things.

When no one believed Commander Shepard about the Reapers, it makes me think of that scene on the first X-Files movie where Mulder has just downed 86 shots of liquor and he was saying when the aliens get here it's going to be the shit storm of all time.

Not sure what to put on my resume. That Excel course I took is called Excel 2007 Intermediate. However, Microsoft also has a certification which covers Excel with the same material as my course. They call it Microsoft Office Specialist in Excel (Expert level is the same as the advanced course).

Changing my Steam download settings from Seattle to Vancouver increased my download speed from 1.8 MBps to 2.7 MBps. Seattle is about 80 miles or so from Vancouver, so it's not that far from it. They probably have faster servers or something. According to Speedtest.net, I get the same download speeds from either city, so it's probably the server Steam has in Vancouver. WTB Calgary server, then I'd download even faster.

Why they even use password? Isn't it better just to allow certain users to enter subforum?

Indeed it is, but then requests have to be made for forum staff to add individual users to the group with access. It doesn't really matter though since they posted in there today that the project is shelved. That forum will therefore be going away soon.

Kind of expected. At least Reloaded has official backing from Gearbox (although that project doesn't seem to be doing any better on the released assets side. Hmm...)

Sounds like the only way to make an old-school game or TC these days is with eduke32. It's easy and simple enough, yet is flexible and powerful enough to make a wide variety of projects ranging from WGRealms to DNE. Honestly, do we need anything else?
Edit: I guess some Doom ports might do a half decent job, but I don't know much about them.

l have no clue what 1998 is all about. I think for old school TCs, EDuke is certainly the easiest to make maps for. The best? The Dark Places (Quake as the base) is probably the strongest competitor to EDuke. - Now Hanks runs far away expecting getting bombarded with corrective measures of his erroneous statement. Isn't eduke32 more interactive than DarkPlaces? I don't know the extent of its coding extensions though.

Can you at-least unlock the thread so we can see what they were working on?

They never even posted anything worthwhile... that forum was actually so dead that I created a thread in it myself asking whether or not they were ever going to start doing anything. I guess I got my answer.

The following is the email I sent last night to my professors:

Quote

I will not be on campus for class or work tomorrow, Thursday, September 14. I wasn't feeling well all day today and it isn't getting better so I am going to take a day to rest and hopefully come out swinging Thursday and Friday.

Subject line was "Sick Thursday September 14"

Wow, I really need to rest. :(

Unless they are lying (and I don't think they are), they are making good progress but GBX prohibits them from showing anything.

this is what you are looking for? I honestly don't know what you mean by interactive. Both are FPS. DarkPlaces does not have a forum, so you can't interact as we can with EDuke developers !?! Still, you can contact LordHavoc directly. Either way, don't do a George B. and switch engines in a middle of a project. EDuke32 has a long future ahead, me thinks! It already outlasted DNF Posted Image

They showed some stuff during a live video stream. It actually looked really good and they made a ton of progress for such a small amount of time.
