You're lucky to have cat like that.

My parents are having people over for lunch and they've been here for 4 hours. I just want to lay back in the couch and watch some TV, but I'm studying in another part of the house.

These vegetables expire just after the world is "supposed" to end.

The world's going to end again? What's the excuse this time?

Mayan Great Count...that has gone over more than once since human civilization has existed.

Well Cosmo is at my mom's place for the next week or so while I head off to Toronto on Tuesday. My dad's picking me up at Pearson Intl airport and driving 3 1/2 hours to his summer place. The cat hid in the cat carrier for about an hour, but now he's just calmly sitting by the stove and not moving. Probably needs to get to know the new place a bit.

I heard that 2012 is when the calendar runs out, and that they didn't actually predict the world would end, it just stopped. What where the mayans supposed to do? Predict dates for the next 10 billion years until the sun expands? No, they had to stop sooner or later, and I think they did pretty well considering their technology.

Everything about Maya calender.
It stopped my confusion about the calender, and also shows they (Mayans) were very advanced, brain wise.

Astronomy is an ancient science that dates back 6000 years. We (that is, Europe) just lost it about 1000 years ago and got it back 500 years ago...along with heliocentric theory.

Also, Hank...your statement about dog shit is bad grammar. You mess up the tenses there and it is confusing.

Quote

Dog shit becomesinteresting when one stepped in it!

It should be either all past:

Quote

Dog shit became interesting when one stepped in it!

Or all present:

Quote

Dog shit becomes interesting when one steps in it!

You also are missing a space.

This is what my cat sounded like in the car

He's a lot calmer now. When I left my mom's he was behind the couch instead in front of the stove.

4 out of 5 exams down. They each go for 3 hours but I finished Maths Studies in 2 hours and physics in 2 hours and 10 minutes Posted Image
But the last exam is also by far the hardest: Specialist Maths Posted Image *gulp*

I made this video about the subject for my own amusement, put's Duke's quotes in a whole new perspective!

The subject also reminds me of the video Jeff posted a while back:

I said specialist maths. Check my post, that's what I said, and there's no 'this post has been edited...' thing at the bottom.

Specialist mathematics is the highest level (i.e hardest) maths course at my school. The stuff is so much more advanced that it's completely different to what you do in the next maths down; Maths Studies and in fact you're forced to do the lower maths as well, so you do 2 maths courses at the same time. Of course, there are 2 more maths courses which are even more dumbed down than Maths Studies, but I'd hate to think what sort of trivial stuff they'd be doing.

So? Special(ist) maths means nothing to me. Are you doing tensor algebra, vector calculus or set theory? Posted Image
This is a trick question.

Yes to set theory.

I'm making some great progress on my WGRealms 2 map, it's only a few weeks away from entering beta, and some other guys are working on amazing stuff at the moment.

I'm at my dad's summer place. Got here about an hour ago. Left my mom's place around 6:15 AM, and got here around 7 PM EST. Long day.

Anyways the best part of my trip was probably when they let me into the cockpit of the plane. They said not while the plane was flying, however, when the plane landed, I could check it out. Got talking to the first officer (co-pilot to non-aviation people), and he said based on what you've got at home with FSX, he said you could basically fly this 737 yourself because it's identical to my 747-8i. He must have FSX at home too because when I mentioned I had a simulator at home, he automatically guessed that I had FSX. I mean there's X-Plane and a few others, but the most used one is FSX/FS2004.

I joked around with him and said if you ever in a situation where you needed someone to fly this plane, I could volunteer.

Snakes on a Plane made a "joke" about a guy flying a real plane after having hundreds of hours on a simulator.

The part where they're on the plane, and there are snakes on the plane, and they're trying to land the plane, but snakes crawled up the pilots' asses so they can't fly it. (Guess which part I made up.)

I can't remember the actor's name, but he is an old Nickelodeon character...I think he was in All That or something. Anyway, he and his buddy are on the plane and when the pilots are all dead, they convince Samuel L Jackson's character that he can fly the plane...and then it is revealed that the guy has only flown in a flight sim on his computer.

Ah man, I just did an hour of Hockey training after 2 weeks of no exercise (that's a lot for me, but I was busy 'studying' for exams). I felt like I was having a heart attack, I am never going to avoid exercising again, even if it's a few quick laps of jogging around the block. I have 2 hours of high level badminton training in an hour or so as well, which will probably be worse, depending on what the coach is feeling like. He has a very unique perspective on the meaning of "fun."

My new favorite Psalm is Psalm 137. it is just that funny...in that kind of sick sort of way, or that way where you know that people don't read the whole Bible but profess it as if they have.

I go to a great school that offers all sorts of excellent activities, but it's my last year...

If you're a person who doesn't exercise, I highly recommend that you do. Not just to healthy, not just to lose weight to get in with the babes, but because you actually feel good. The difference is very noticeable, and doesn't take much time to kick in, for every day you exercise, there are several days or more afterwards where you're full of energy, on a natural high, and eating healthy things like apples only makes it better.

I live a healthy life, it's just that I can't get into sports as I don't find any of them interesting.
