Yeah, I had to have an IV. They actually had to stick me SIX TIMES because I was dehydrated as hell by the time they actually went to run it and they couldn't get it to thread into my vein. Two sticks in each arm at the elbow and one stick in each wrist before they could get it run. One of their attempts to place the IV actually hurt more than the damn stone for a brief second, which I really was not expecting. I actually have bruising from the IV attempts that's so dark at this point that it looks like someone broke a pen open and poured the ink all over my arm.

Oh, and last night was hell. It started hurting just as bad as it did before I went to the hospital the night before and I had to take more pills at about 5 or 6 in the morning... I was really starting to think they weren't going to work at all until they apparently kicked in and I passed out from exhaustion afterward.

This thing fucking sucks. :)

OUCH! OW! you poor human being. Jeez, I can't even begin to think about how horrible/painful that was.
You are very brave. An IV in the wrist! An IV SIX times! :) :P Christ Almighty!!

Why do they give you any IV? I thought they could break kidney stones with ultrasound?

You are one tough person, I could NEVER go through that, it must of been terrible. Well done.

Shit... I would rather die or something than experience this. Of course I could die in a very gruesome and painful way... Life sucks.

Sorry, TX, that wasn't really supportive. :) My boss also had stones in the kidneys and he said basically the same thing as you.

They had to give me an IV to push pain medicine and antibiotics and to try and replenish my fluids. The whole ordeal pretty much hurt so bad that it was like being physically punished for anything bad I'd ever done to anyone throughout my entire life. What really sucks is I have no idea why such stones are suddenly forming frequently and I'm worried I'm going to get another one in a few weeks or a month or so. :)

Ehmm, I aint' no doctor, but my pop had those, and they changed the diet. And since I did not want stones myself I follow(ed) the diet. But you may want to get in touch with a dietitian to assess your case. To give my diet to you is useless, it depends on your metabolism and shit like that. Yet, another development of stones could be avoided!

Still, all the best Posted Image

On a completely different topic, it looks like my talking DNF keychain has made it to New Jersey and will probably show up here this week. It's one of these:

I'm excited! :)

Thanks Jeff, I'm trying! :) The one saving grace of this whole ordeal is the giant bottle of oxycodone I ended up with. The side effect of treating the pain is that I've pretty much been high as balls all day and it makes me much less of a dick to everyone than I'd normally be.

Btw, I just upgraded everyone with at least 50 posts to a PM inbox allowing 2000 messages to be stored. I upgraded the per-user attachment limit to 200 megs as well.

Finally, not deleting my messages has produced a benefit :)

Also the 200mb limit is nice, the previous limit of 10mb was so restricting I didn't use it for anything other than map files.

Does this mean in order to not waste space I should start sending PMs with attached pictures of me?

Micky, don't think I have forgotten to show you...I'll show you...

Aeropostale is French for airmail and people were it across their chest. I want to start a clothing line that is French or something for slut/whore and see how many people where it across their chest without knowing it.

Pute means also turkey ( bird ) in German; you may get away with that word. So 'fille pute' may fool some; but as soon as you wander to Montreal, you'll be asked for a date, if you are good looking. Posted Image

Jeez you poor man. I could never ever in a million years go through that.

Ask you Doctor (evil people :P) why the stones appear so suddenly. I take it the stones have gone now?

Hope you get better dude.

You wanna fool nearly the whole world? Okay then, write it in hieroglyphs. French is not complicated enough.

Well, looks like I'm gonna be under the knife, or under whatever they use to remove wisdom teeth these days. The little fuckers are so impacted that they're almost curving around and into my mouth, it's like having a sort of alien-like jaw with them like this, but it hurts like seven shades of Hell and it makes every tooth ache endlessly. Compared to what TX has been through, this is a walk in the strawberry fields with Jim Morrison playing a ukelele, but it's not enjoyable as it stands (IV in the back of the hand for general anesthetic, so at least I'll be out for it unlike other dental stuff that gets done here, even if I'm stuck to eating soup). What REALLY sucks is that the anti-biotics I've been given to deal with any inflammation of the gums require that I can't partake of the Devil's nectar while I'm taking them and for five days after, that's the real kick in the teeth (Pun intended).

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. I've had 3 of my 4 wisdom teeth removed myself, but they were all on separate occasions and none of them were impacted. They actually grew in perfectly straight but they pushed the rest of my teeth so close together that the wisdom teeth got horrible cavities and rotted on account of not being able to adequately brush them (due to the insufficient space between them). I can't imagine how much it must suck when they grow in all sideways and whatnot. Good luck with that! Enjoy the soup regimen afterward... or ice cream, depending on whether you end up sensitive to cold or to heat. :)

Because they're so impacted and are causing me such pain I can have them removed ASAP, otherwise they'd be left in until they and the teeth infront decayed or the pain flared up again, so thank you NHS for not putting me on a waiting list as first intended and letting my dental history go down the toilet (/sarcasm). The NHS puts so much crap and red tape in the way of proper dentistry since they changed the laws on wisdom teeth removal here, it's a good thing because it stops dentists taking them out without need and charging patients, but it also slows things right down when you need them out because regular dentists can't remove them and you wind up in the NHS medical sinkhole.

And it'll be soup, I can eat ice cream without issue but I'd rather watch my weight haha.

What about fils de pute? Has a nice ring to it. I'll talk to a designer...we'll make this work. :)

Hank knows what I'm on aboot. Of course, I do want a shirt that has Hebrew on it but that is different; I think other people in the graduate program would appreciate a "cool" t-shirt for Biblical Scholars.

Frankly, wearing "Air Mail" isn't exactly nice either. Are you a package? Would you like to be stamped and thrown around in a luggage cabin? I'm still not sure why people where it...

Of course, those of us who know what it says wouldn't wear it, but there are plenty of idiots who buy whatever happens to be hip.

Addendum:
I just realized that I could make my "Countdown to nothing in particular" truly a countdown to nothing in particular by setting it to count to a random number + the current date/time bit. If I multiply the random number by like 1000 or so it should be a full day at least, right?

That reminds me that I should go to a doctor to have those cavities cured on wisdom teeths. Although I don't use them and they don't hurt, I should probably keep them in good shape.

Ow. Good God I feel sorry for you as well. The best of luck with all of that, I'm also very glad to see your able to retain at least a little bit of a sense of humor, despite how horrible that all sounds.

Buying stuff from Australia isn't cheap. Got this new scenery package for FSX, but I guess when they ship it here, you also pay import fees.

I have to eat now because I have to take the bus to the airport and then take a 2 hour flight so I won't be eating until like 10 my time (closer to 9 where I'm heading though)...that is in 6 hours, man. I am not hungry but I know that by the time I get to the airport I'll be a little hungry and I'll certainly be hungry when I get to my parents' place in 6 hours. This is so frustrating...it's torture because I know I'll wish I had eaten before leaving.

Unfortunately, the developers of this software are Australian and they don't offer a digital download version for this software. It must be shipped to you.
