Are Flat Earthers a real thing? I've only heard about them within like the last year or two (besides those that believed it before Galileo retconned it)
I feel like it's mostly people taking the piss, but I've not been exposed to any of it.

It definitely went too far. For a moment I started to believe that Earth is indeed flat. It's funny, but "Earth is flat" discussions always work as distraction when it comes to internet forums. It works even better than "Global Warming" meme (maybe because this meme is too old).
