I suppose that's a bit unfair, I think that's an older picture of ScarJo (apparently it's an industry standard callsign, learned it while reading about her being appointed to whitewash GITS, but I digress), since women do get better with (some) age.

I don't know about you guys, but I think the poster looks pretty good.

Really? Wow.

The "get me outta here" expression on Harrison F's face is pretty amusing, though.

Worldwide, I wonder how many "boners" are going to drop down after seeing how badly Princess Leia has aged. :)

This might help a bit with those woes...

Hey with makeup they can do anything though right?
In this case some plastic surgery has been involved as well, I suppose.

My boss is such a Star Wars geek that he is going to see the movie on opening day with his daughter, the following day by himself and 2 days later with his son.
I just watched the trailer and when I saw a glimpse of this face it reminded me somewhat of the guy that plays in the Matrix and Lord of the rings movies. The elf leader.

There's no need to be defensive toward her or something. It's from February of last year, taken by Chuck Close for Vanity Fair. A bunch of actors and actresses did the shoot and were told to not do their hair and makeup and come without any entourage, basically come over early in the day and have a pic taken. I'm not saying she looks terrible - She just looks like a normal girl/woman (which she is obviously). Average.

Then hair and makeup (and costumes and lighting) make her become something/someone else entirely. That's how it works in movies.

I'm really not, not a fan.

Looks like she's 17 in the first photo, unattractive because of that, not because of the lack of makeup. That, or the smile, I can't stand smiling.

Naw, not 17 but definitely like a college senior or something. Looks like some girls I used to hang out with.
She's the same age as me actually.
I have to say that I don't necessarily think she's a particularly good actress, but at the same time I think I've liked every movie I've seen her in. Maybe that just comes down to being good at picking roles/scripts.

I know television has made you believe this is what a 15 years old looks like:

It's funny because Charisma Carpenter (the actress from Buffy that plays Cordelia Chase) is ACTUALLY 45... RIGHT NOW!

I didn't think she was very attractive during her stint in Buffy the Vampire Slayer... but she aged really well and looked gorgeous during Angel's run. She still looks good now honestly.

The staff at Target are pretty slow to respond to that. Just pull a ringer off the hook and kill the music!

Strange that nobody cares to mention Nicholas Brendon, who also didn't look like a 15 year old (probably because he had a full decade extra behind him when BtVS started).
Sarah Michelle Gellar was still a teen by the smallest of margins, but Michelle Trachtenberg was the only one whose age actually corresponded with that of her character.

Yeah I do like it, although I have seen that there are plenty that don't, with one of the basic criticisms being that it's too busy, which is fair enough. I guess because it evokes the feeling of Star Wars for me and doesn't just end up looking like some of the blandness that seems to inhabit a lot of movies posters these days is part of why I like it. Each to their own of course. :)

She also looked good in her few appearances in Charmed and a couple of unremarkable movies.

With regards to the X-Files Blu-ray thing, I read somewhere today that they will be giving each episode lots of bitrate instead of trying to jam as much stuff on each disc as possible. There is 6 discs per season, with some seasons having 7 discs. I remember Fringe had 22 episodes on 4 discs, but X-Files is doing 6-7 discs for 20-25 episodes.

Makeup isn't that good for your skin. Lots of chemicals.
