I have been trying to find out an old game for Mac... you started as a small fish and needed to eat other fishes smaller than you to grow. I remember some details... they had different species, like a black and white angel fish, or a brown piranha with a grumpy face that was invencible, and sometime if you ate a very tiny fish he would say "Oh no!". Any idea?

Keep this in mind though... you must consider the market catered to. The success of what many of us call sub-par or just plain poor games, eventually means there is no need for quality as those who can appreciate it are soon too few to matter.
"If a crap game falls in the market, and there is no one there who can tell, is it still a AAA title?" (hehehe)

I don't think all games released are crap. The industry is changing, and it was said years ago that catering to the core gamer isn't profitable anymore, so they have to open things up and water it down to the casuals. A certain company managed to abandon their entire core fanbase, because as some of them said "Games cost much too much money to focus on a niche market". So they shift their market from the core gamer to the casual gamer. The core gamer starts gnashing their teeth and spouting bile about being betrayed and that the company sold them out.

Read something a few months ago, where there was a graph which stated innovative and risky games (instead of watered down crap) don't sell that well, while games which use the same recycled formula are the way to go because that's what sells.

I don't really either, I was just trying to be funny at the expense of some crappy AAA titles.

I completely understand and agree. Like I said, not everyone has a hand made wooden table anymore... cheap reproduction products without souls are fine for a decaying majority. :)

Absolutely... this is why I have enjoyed seeing the "indie" market offer some interesting "one man band" or at least small team productions. I am thinking of SmartPhone and Tablet based stuff mostly. I love it when people like the Angry Birds group makes it big beyond their wildest dreams.

Just in: Two 12-year old girls arrested for stabbing a friend 19 times b/c they -the attackers- were inspired by Slenderman and Creepypasta. Holy Shit!! I'm speechless by this. Where the hell were the parents? Blaming a tragic incident on a video game, movies, music, and internet horror stories is just plain pig shit.

Should I make a new topic a/b this or leave it here in The Post Thread?

Blaming an Internet meme for these murders is rather akin to blaming the Beatles for murdering Sharon Tate.

Did Peter Jackson film the Extended Edition before hand, cut it and sell it separately from the theatrical version?

That's a completely different situation though. Even the theatrical versions of those movies are too long for the average viewer.

Damn! CNN is on the Slenderman case. One of the articles has Jim Steyer of Common Sense Media on Kids having trouble distinguishing fantasy and reality.

Looking the video, its from CNN. So not sure what the cops actually said; or if it is CNN who simply interpreted some statements that 'whatever' is to blame.
Still, this is how religion starts, doesn't it? Do a deed and get a reward ... I think this event is not that simple.

Randal Graves' opinion of Lord of The Rings is the most apt description of anything, ever.

One less lonely jb?
Maybe. By chainsaw?? Doom style would be pretty ironic all things considered.

I ranted earlier, then I edited/deleted my rant. Now I regret it, it was a good rant. I think viper voted up my rant maybe, not this ^ garbage about the biebs.

Too bad Jackass Thompson got disbarred a long time ago. He won't be able to file wrongful death lawsuits against Creepypasta and the creators of Slenderman over a stabbing of a teen.

The victim is said to be in stable condition. Apparently one wound was a millimeter away from a major artery, otherwise she would have died.

This whole thing reminds me of the good old days when one said: The devil made me do it, or better yet, I was possessed by demons. Because in those days the only entertainment was the bible. - One of the attacking girl, based on a report at Reuters, said that Slenderman talked to her and followed her in her dreams.

Also, I have no clue who Thompson is, we a have a law firm here with a Thompson in it.

How a/b Joe Lieberman? The thing is he retired from the US senate for almost two years and he can't craft any anti-entertainment legislation.

EDIT: Speaking of Jack Thompson.

It's Canada. They'll capture him alive, sentence him to life in prison, then parole him in 15 to 20 years so he can go out and do it again.

rip on the death penalty all you want, but this shit happens quite often

He wore the camo and guns in public to get the citizens to call 911. He was waiting for the cops and had an ambush set, he let a guy stop and tend to an officer without pause, just walked away into the woods. And it's not so suburban around there as you may think, it's small town canada. Last I heard cops had a house surrounded.

To cope, though, I do have a really important coping mechanism in the form of Ovad (pronounced “aw-vid”). Ovad is an imaginary friend I have had since 5th grade. He’s been known to take the form of different people that will help me cope the most with my current situation, but currently he is in his “natural” form - that is, a large snake-man with rainbow-green scales. He’s the side of me I can’t access when I’m anxious or panicking; that is, common sense, rationality, self esteem, etc.

Ovad stands for Overpopulation, Varition, Adaptation, and Descent (With Modification). These are the four necessities to natural selection, which is significant to me for very personal reasons. I don’t mind sharing said reason but it would be too long to type out here
