Phone Gods?
is that like one of those 900 sex chat lines?
i'd have to argue that a phone god would make me quite a bit more euphoric than my "intellgences" (which i think is that area between my balls and my asshole)

For the record, the guy who proposed the Big Bang Theory believed in God.

Of course. I know that Forge did it on purpose in order to just be an asshole. And he's either going to ignore this post or pretend that I'm making this up. Or he'll pretend to be making up that he's trolling in order to troll you about how he's trolling.

Lol even though there was no proof to support that claim. What a fucking moronic fucktard, that Newton idiot.

lol. everybody believed that for centuries.
iirc it started with some greek scientist (Aristotle?) who observed maggots "growing" spontaneously from a piece of rotting meat.

the only waste of time going on is the minor slice of the scientific community trying to prove/disprove the existence of a higher power.
a) there are better things to waste brainpower on
b ) if there was a higher power and it didn't want to reveal itself, no one's going to find it no matter how much time and resources are thrown at it
c) there are better things to waste brainpower on

there are many "knowns" and "unknowns" if the multitudes of scientific fields like quantum physics, microbiology, astrophysics, etc., etc., etc....
it does get annoying when some of these researches feel it necessary to throw in "maybe God and/or no need for a god" into their findings.

One of the silly things I've done while upgrading hardware over the course of my lifetime was to accidentally remove the metal sticker on the right side of a hard drive. I thought it was just a regular sticker, but it keeps the dust and crap from reaching the platters. If removed, the drive will fail quickly.

there are some gaps, but according to NASA Ames research the materials needed were quite common during the formation of the solar system. Meteorites and cometary bodies are loaded with them.

Scientists have been able to take the compounds (carbon, amino acids, etc.), "cook" them in a lab, and produce organic gunk.

Open questions still pervade. The origins of the material. It requires UV radiation to create them which would have been absent in a solar nebula cloud of dust. How to get from simple amino acids, nucleobases, and amphiphiles to strands of RNA or DNA and building block proteins.

I am out of good RPGs to play (that is, RPGs that I enjoy). Fortunately, I am about to start a dice and paper Star Wars RPG with some friends which hopefully doesn't just make me want KotOR 3 even more than I already do.

I need Wasteland 2 to come out soon. I can't keep playing Civ 5 for hours on end.

Actually, I'm not sure anyone will be a Jedi. I'm leaning towards just playing a droid. Another friend said he'd be a droid that speaks Basic so I can be one that doesn't speak Basic (Imperial Probe Droid, maybe). Apparently, we have to be able to speak Basic unless another member of the group can interpret.

I'm kind of excited about playing it. I have never really done a full on RPG like this. I've wanted to but never got into a group for it. I had to drop out of a group last year before they began because I had a ton of stuff to do.

I was going to ask if anyone would be interested in testing a DOOM source port that I code? There's things like multiplayer (maybe client/server), MD3 skin-alpha sorting, MD3 tag placement corrections, split-screen, Heretic support, TGA textures, etc., that needs attention. I'm busy between this and a stupid hybrid Quake 2 engine, and two hardcore games to give it proper testing. I'm trying to make up for the bug-riddled last release, that for some reason people continue to use. Any takers (can't be pitchers, sorry).

BTW, it's EDGE... CVS can ban fags, but not Real Faggots.

Unfortunately, no. I at one point used a private Repo that I haven't updated in a year or so, but I do have 7zips of the code, and also a semi-recent compiled binary, if that helps any :(

I'm about to pull my hair out. My son is 38 years old and since high school he has never had a job and didn't go to college. He lays around the house all day playing Xbox and PS3 and farting around on the Internet and doesn't work. He also yells at me and my husband for little things like if we don't buy him the right kind of pizza or if we get him the wrong video game. I have had discussions with my husband but he refuses to kick him out because he will be homeless.

I'm also afraid he will live on the streets if we make him leave so we don't. He lays around on the sofa eating pizza half the night like a bum and sleeps all day. He isn't fat, he has a 120 IQ, but he refuses to work.

He said he hates it so we don't make him do it. Maybe I shouldn't be angry since he enjoys his life but what will happen when we die? He will inherit the house but he has to pay the bills for it. That is what I am worried about.
