There was someone working on a star track mod. And they had a problem with the ship spite disappearing when the player doesn't look at it.
Here's why that happens. The spites will only be visible when the sector it is standing on is visible.
So if someone is planing on using a HUGE spite to make you map more dynamic?
Heres a what I've leaned to that mite help
Make the sector the spite is on. Shaped so that it is on the screen with the spites dynamics.
A simple trick is to make one sector that goes around the map (like a back drop). And place your spite in the back drop area.
Anyways, I hope this will help out anyone who is trying to work with 3d spites.
