Hi,
last couple of days (5-10) I'm getting this strange error:
"Server busy or per-user connection limit exceeded."
whenever I click any topic. I've to refresh the page several times to finally load the page...
What's wrong?
Thank you in advance.
Regards
Honza

It's probably related to the new server Plagman moved to.

I got few similar errors but it resolved themselves from waiting or refreshing spam (refreshing a lot).

Just a feedback - nothing has been solved - I still get the error message.

Then I would suggest you quit using browser addons that increase your maximum concurrent connections to "piss off the sysadmin" levels. ;)

I know for damn certain most of us are not.

I'm getting this error all the friggin time on a plain, fresh install of Firefox. This is the only site I get it on too.
I get it at home on my gaming PC, my father's PC, AND I get it on my netbook here and at college. Regardless of browser.

Tell me, what company is providing the webhosting? Because it seems at this point they aren't very reliable.

This doesn't have to do anything with the hosting, but it's still a little weird if you're getting this on different IPs and different browsers. Is this a forum software error, or an httpd error? You can take a screenshot if you're unsure, I guess. Having the exact time and IP it occurred from would also help reconcile that with server-side logs to know exactly what went wrong.

IP Address on image.

The only reason I was wondering if this was on a particular server provider was because some providers (like lunarpages) use some underhanded tactics to reduce server load.

But now that I think of it, it's most likely a forum software issue because I don't get this error on the main site.

Yeah, you're running into the limit of 10 concurrent connections per IP due to the browser sending a shitload of requests simultaneously to snag all of the images for the forum pages. I'll add common image formats like .gif, .png and .jpg to the exemptions and double the limit to 20. To be honest, I didn't think that module was even being used on sites other than duke4.org (HRP downloads), but a closer look at the httpd configuration shows that it is.

Anyway, the problem should be taken care of now.

And for everyone's information, these forums would never be run on some shitty generic web host. We have our own dedicated server (quad core Xeon w/ HyperThreading and 8 gigs of RAM) sitting on a gigabit pipe, not some $10 a year hosting package at www.suckadickhosting.com. ;)

Good to hear.

Also, I'm no longer getting the errors.
