Hi guys, I'm trying out the voxel pack and it looks great. However, I found an issue on E3L11, more precisely with the Terminator easter egg. It seems like only the Terminator's arm has been voxelized, whereas its body still displays as a flat texture:

I'm not sure of why this happens, since I double-checked and I'm using the latest .zip which does contain the 1356_TERMINATOR.kvx file and its corresponding .def code, as well as E3L11.mhk.

yes... its something that affects serval other voxels as well. Also the candy bar in the pool in hotel hell. As far as I know the current engine cannot render sprites as voxels if they are definded in a certain way.... ( floor aligned ... if I remember correctly). I changed that in a test map and the voxel showed up. Maybe with a new maphack that can define the allignment of sprites this can be fixed...but it would require also that the axis assignment in the voxel itself is correct. See Screenshot

Not necessarily one of the best voxels ever made, though. It's just a bit less flat.

well its the version after being crushed by the compactor :)

isn't that sprite floor aligned meaning it wouldn't be drawn as a voxel anyway?

Well, it was crashed by the press so I think it looks right as a flat sprite, doesn't it?

1. I don't know how other maps use the terminator sprite. the sprite itself is ambiguous whether it is actually flat or not, and I can imagine it being used in a way that implies it not being flattened
2, voxels can't have their pitch changed (I believe this is to ensure compatibility with the software renderer), you would have to make a new voxel with the terminator facing upwards
3, replacing floor aligned sprites with voxels opens its own can of worms. for example you could place a floor aligned pigcop behind some tire tracks and a buildporn vehicle, suggesting it has been run over. replacing it with a voxel would break the scene

1. terminator sprite is only used once in the offcial maps ... like the baby ruth candy bar

2. yes the voxel had to remade like I said

3. I concur that applying it to all floor aligned sprites can cause a mess.... that's why I was suggesting a map hack, that can change the allignment of a specific sprite.....
