Gaming Gear  "keys, mouse, speakers, cards whatever"

#1

I could'nt find a thread so I started one

check the gear at RAZER

Been scanning around looking for some new gear for a new rig and came across these razer dudes. What do you think? Did you have a look at their gear? Anyone use Razer?

I like the razerback mouse, acid green or anarchy red. The Barracuda headphones seem wild. I might be going Razer rather then logitec this year :)

I can't stand their designs. :)
THIS is supposed to be cool or something.
I just stick to Logitech for keyboard and mouse.

Well you go ahead and do that. I am going to Razer for a new mouse. 7 buttons, awesome grip and a lightening response. not to mention the strategic price, about 30 bucks cheaper then the logitecs g5 and 50 bucks cheaper then the g7.

And yeah, that pic is cool. That dudes gaming area is pretty sweet. Since you think it is shit I would like to see your gaming area so I know what is "cool". :) B) B)

I don't call it a gaming area, it's just my computer desk.
That pic isn't cool because that dude tried too hard to get every single piece of R@z0r..omg..cool1!!! stuff in that shot. :)
This will be my next keyboard. It has elegant style. No aggressive colors, logos and names.
But to each its own, just a matter of taste.

yeah I like that keyboard. It is SMOOTH. :) I have just ordered the logitec g15 but thinking about the eclipse2 because of the red back light option. My new colours this year is red and black. I still get off on the aggressive looking mods. the only other style that impresses me is the extream elagant, smooth styles that you showed us. My computer desk is alot like that dudes who tried hard to get his pic in the razer cult, except all the razer gear. The only thing I will get from razer this year is the mouse. the headphones are just to dear.

well anyway I have decided to build my own rig rather then go to "completly custom computerz"

here is the order that I just copied from my shopping cart. I cant wait to procede to checkout in july.

Samsung 931C 19in LCD Monitor SM-931C $425.00
Intel Core2 Duo E6600 INTEL-6600 $325.00
XFX GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 560Mhz Extreme Edition $519.00
ASUS P5N32-E SLI Motherboard $339.00
Corsair HX-620 620W Power Supply $199.00
Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200rpm SATA II $249.00
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 (2x1GB) 5-5-5-12 $219.00
Thermaltake Big Water 735 Water Cooling System $169.00
Scythe Kama Meter Multi Function Controller $69.00
Dual Cold Cathode Kit - True Red $25.00

I was going to go quad but really that went way over my budget.

I wish i could go wide screen this year but the other half will freak. this is about as much as i could go without starting WW3 at my house. I think I will get a ASUS DRW-1814BLT, dvd thingy. This one labels stuff on the other side of the disk and it is only 75 bucks. :)

I should get myself a new keyboard... but i like the way the buttons are setup on this old current one i'm using...

Buttons are easily pressed, and best of all i must say, is the "delete" button next to "Enter/Return" it's small, and is lined up with the usual; Insert, Home, Page up, Delete, End and Page Down...

The newer designs have this annoying oval/long delete button...
I find it annoying, because i am one of the people who use the arrow keys for movement in games, and the additional keys around it...
Right now i have this perfect circle of buttons around the arrow keys, that make me easily press everything around my movement keys when i need to...

The newer designs however, mess up my control preferences, with that Delete button's shape...
It's hard to find a good and cheap set WITHOUT having to include a mouse...
Usually it's Logitech Keyboards i see like this.... not exclusively though

About my mouse..?
I'm fine with my MX518... I don't need any more than this to play like i want to... it's VERY cheap today, and a decent PC player would never notice any difference between the MX518 and the G5/G7...

I don't think i'll ever buy a new mouse, unless this one gets broken or something

I need a self-cleaning mouse or something.
It looks like i have algae growing in it.

the mouse i use now is crap for gaming. It is a wireless microsoft do daty and the wheel is super fast for scrolling so that makes it hard to switch weapons with out going past. i miss my old mouse that had kinda a notching effect in the wheel while scrolling. i hope the new razer mouse is what iam looking for.

Logitech here... I use the MX518 gaming mouse from logitech and love it. The damn thing has a perfect size, weight and shape. I also use Logitech for speakers... Z-5300e 5.1 set.

But for a keyboard I don't use Logitech... Saitek instead. Specifically their Eclipse II model.
