Problems with Carribbean

#1

I want to run the Carribbean Addon with Eduke32. BUT without hi-res stuff, just plain, simply as it was in 97.

I can manage to get it running with this parameter:

eduke32 /gvacation.grp /xvaca.con

But in the first map (Life's a Beach) I'm unable to open the first door. Looks like the the CONs don't work as they should be? How to check it? Do I need to patch something?

Thanks!

I've just tested it with JunoF Port. It works there, so my grp and other files are ok. Must be some problem with eduke32. Any ideas?

I think you need to use a newer version of eduke32

Hendrick's vacation + pack, although a HRP, also has several code improvements and 8-bit bug fixes. I'm fairly confident it's fixed that problem, and it can be downloaded here: http://forums.duke4....?showtopic=1188
So use it even if you want to play using the original graphics and everything.

Micky is right about it being better (including RC-55 music), although this particular problem is actually a bug in EDuke32 that has since been fixed. Check the synthesis directory in Dukeworld, or my binaries in my signature.

Thanks so much! It's indeed an eduke32 bug. I uses the current binaries from the "synthesis" folders and it works!

Well actually, it's been said that the code was nearly completely re-written, the game might need more. The game is said to be the size of three Call of Duty games, if that's the case, it's a fair bet that the code is more complex too. Who knows though, we'll have to wait for official announcements.

Ok make that 4 identical posts. Besides, it isn't techincally correct to say it's the size of 3 call of duty games, but 3 times bigger than the last call of duty game, as the last one was shorter than average.

Edit: make that 5

Double edit: make that 8...
