Why call you a idiot in the topic description? Well most people think that Garry's Mod is some sandbox game where you just place models and put them in funny positions, Garry's mod is more than that. It has MANY different game modes.

Parkour, Spacebuild, Trouble in Terrorist Town, Dogfight Arcade, Tons of Zombie gamemodes and Stranded to name a few.

You need to already own a Source based game to run GMOD, Half Life 2, Counter Strike: Source etc

Why couldn't you get it? You have Minecraft and that costs more.
Although I would recommend for that you get the Counter Strike: Source + Garry's Mod deal seeing that you don't own CS:S as many mods use alot of content from CS.

GMOD Stranded beats Minecraft hands down imo, the only thing that you can't do in GMOD is make/remove them blocks. But then you can spawn models/props etc to counter that.

1. No I dont have Mincraft, well an account anyway, my friend gave me his to play.

So can we actually play half life 2 with doom enemies and/or weapons yet? If so, how? I only got garry's mod a week ago and am a total noob at installing stuff for it. I've subscribed to the mod and placed my iwad file as per the instructions.

I haven't looked at the mod since it came out.
But I was able to spawn the enemies, weapons, the HUD in any map.
I am not sure about them replacing default items, enimes.

Yeah, you just place the IWAD as advised by the mod creator and start Garry's Mod. Load up a map and press "Q", this will open up a menu and you select DOOM from the NPC tab and open. Then you can search the tabs for weapons, etc.
You can load any HL2 map you'd like (assuming you have the game) and spawn monsters there.

I've shot a quick example video of what it looks like:



Note: since it also works with the freedoom IWAD, that's why the enemies are not the classic doom enemies but free versions of them. :3
