do we have Holoduke in DNF? how would a Holoduke work in a FPS from todays world? maybe it runs around with you and acts like its shooting? What would be cool would be if you could order it around, like you order people around in Half Life 2. Send Holoduke out in front of that heatseeking missile :)

A holo-duke helper sounds sweet. Clone yourself for x seconds, same weapon/stats/ammo/etc..
Double your pleasure, Double the Ass kicking, Double the fun

Holoduke was confirmed, it is in. iirc, someone from Gearbox just recently mentioned it too, and that it was in.

sweet!

I never really use it in DN3D 'cept for that lone situation when it actually comes in handy but if done right could really be a game changer in DNF...

To be honest I never really had much use for holoduke. It looks like the inspiration for it was from the movie Total Recall but even then there where only a couple of times when it came in handy...... yet the one with arnold in particular was one of the best scenes in the film.

If done properly it can be great, like a bot you can send out into the crossfire, that's where it seems it would be useful

That ending makes the whole movie AMAZING.

I do like Escape From LA in fact I have both movies in HD.... I just wouldn't have pinned it as the inspiration for that particular thing in Duke3D. There seemed to be more time for them to be inspired by Total Recall than Escape From LA too to be honest.

I almost never used it Duke3d. I care about jetpack or devastator but not holoduke. I also care about my hairdo.

You mean like in 3DR's 1997 Shadow Warrior?

Well, if you use it right, it can work. It's primarily meant to distract enemies, allowing you to move in for the kill.
More effective in Multiplayer though, those fuckers are deceiving sometimes.

I'm all for it. They should also make it usable in the single-player campaign this time.

You're doing it wrong. Works most times I use it, single-player and multi-player. The only times it hasn't worked for me is when I use it right out in the open where opponents/AI can see me deploying it. Which makes sense. I actually think the hologram in Reach is awesome. It doesn't just appear where you deployed it and stand in one spot. It runs to wherever to have your cross-hairs aimed, jumping over any obstacles that are in the way of the destination you set. Once it reaches the destination, it stands there. So if you want it to appear exactly where you are and stand in place, you aim at your feet and deploy it. Works wonderfully if you're not stupid with it. I've also done the Total Recall thing a couple of times online, and pretended to be a hologram running straight past someone in a straight line not shooting at them, then going "Surprise!" and laying the smack down. Lots of fun.

Though I never really used the Holoduke in single player, it's priceless in Dukematch.

Didn't the duke3d dukebot just stand in one spot the whole time? I don't see what that's good for other than a second or two of distraction. I'd rather spend my time and energy collecting weapons or something then waiting in ambush with a dukebot.

Is it just me or does Halo seem to be ripping off Duke ideas all of a sudden?
Jetpacks, Holo Spartan.

Now that's a can of worms if I've ever seen one! I once got flamed for saying Halo isn't as revolutionary as it is made out to be... that it's a competent shooter but not THAT revolutionary.
