Duke's handgun.  "If you could pick it."

Just for fun, lets say that Gearbox decided that you could pick Duke's "signature" weapon seeing as some people seem don't like Duke using a M1911 as his current handgun in DNF and would rather have the Desert Eagle back, what gun would you pick? The Desert Eagle, M1911 or a different handgun?

I think duke should carry a AMT Automag V

The Colt M1911 is not a bad gun, and it certainly fits the "American hero" archetype. That said, Duke could benefit from using some more powerful revolvers.

In particular, I want to see him firing two of these at once:

I would say the Desert eagle, it fits duke more, but i don't really care honestly because i am pretty sure the desert eagle is in the game

I don't see why he can't have a selection? more than one to choose from at the start, I mean does it really need to be cut and dry that THIS will be Duke's ONLY handgun?

It isnt. Duke uses a customised Golden Colt 45 1911 now.

...and a revolver? Get outta here. Even Harry Callahan traded his for a 44 Automag.

Yes, ferran, it does. Its called "signature" for a reason. :)

Well in the 2001 trailer Duke uses a Desert eagle, i am pretty sure because i see it by the way it shoots its bullets
But anyway if you say so, then i guess that could be true

I liked the idea, but i'll have to accept the fact that duke doesn't use a desert eagle, but a golden Colt 45 1911

Nothing smaller than a .45 for Duke - beyond that I don't really care.

So a 1911 works for me. A fine pistol to shoot - I love mine!

I like the 1911. It's a good gun, and he used one in Duke64, as well. Desert Eagles are okay, but in real life they're not a very reliable weapon, so I couldn't see Duke using one.

I don't like the reloading animation, though.

I agree, its not the greatest reload animation.

My main beef with the DNF 1911 is that it looks really tacky.

If it would be my choice I'd put in duke hands nothing smaller than this:

In SiN it was absolutely precise and VERY powerful handgun, it worked better than desert eagle in Counter-Strike

Why can't he upsize his power AND stay with a 1911 style?

Colt Delta Elite. It's basically an M1911 in 10mm Auto. Here's mine.

It's accurate and wickedly powerful. In it's lighter loadings it duplicates the performance of .40 S&W, but loaded to it's full potential it produces ballistics in the same range as .41 magnum. Duke SHOULD have a ridiculously overpowered handgun. If he's not going to be carrying a Deagle, a 10mm fits the bill. And I'm of the opinion that there's something unspeakably classy about the look of the classic 1911.

Hold on can someone post a pic of the handgun Duke has at the moment? That's if it's changed since that leaked video (from may this year iirc), I could never keep up with all these different names for guns...

Maybe I'm just out of touch, but what's a red triangle have to do with AA? :)

Seriously though, The over the top tacky obnoxious gold engraving on the current handgun fits a with an over the top tacky obnoxious hero like Duke.

Considering the shape of the handgun Duke used at DN3D,where the upper part of the gun is edgy and not curvy,I'd say that the real life gun that resembles that most is a Glock.

Yeah, its some kind of a wierd variant. Im guessing that was hand drawn or done in CGI because it does not resemble a real model of glock that you can find. The rear section is tapered and smoothed off, I dont quite get it.

It's a .357 The Chiappa Rhino, but nothing beats a revolver's coolness. ^^ This one has a very interesting almost futuristic design too. Considering Duke will be in the old west it will be a cool place for revolver action. ^^

I can never find this post, but George Broussard posted on 3DR once about how the pistol and shotgun were real guns, but they were highly customised compared to their original models. He bought them at a gun auction or something, but I'm running off memory so it's really fuzzy.

I wonder if he will sell them?
