Found this old cd, Better than Doom, almost as good as Duke Nukem 3d.
has anybody ever played Eradicator? It is a Dos , and Windows 95 Friendly
Game. I remember buying this around the time Duke3d came out, and well
you know, it was nothing but Duke from then on.

Moby Games info:
Three distinct characters are on offer in this shoot 'em up - choose from Kamchak the lizard or humans Dan and Eleena. The game's path varies depending on which character you choose.

The planet Ioxia is vital to your society, as nowhere else provides the vital element Mazrium. However, its long dormant alien forces have been woken up, and must be destroyed by a one-man army. You must fly into the Citadel to destroy its power source.

Eradicator combines pure action and puzzle solving, with 1st-person and 3rd-person views to switch between. There are 20 different weapons, with the missiles you control after launching perhaps the most unusual. The single-player levels plus five more are all available for multi-player action.

Trivia
Utilizes RAD Game Tools' Smacker video technology for the cinematic cutscenes.

Now where's the Polymer and HRP for that game. :) :) Just kidding... actually it does look pretty good for its time and I'm surprised I've never heard of it before since I have been into FPS since Wolf3D. I also used to have a subscription to PC Gamer and supposedly a demo was on one of the discs and I always used to try out the demos... this one slipped under my radar. Anyway, I like how it has a female choice for a character like ROTT did.

Yes looks like a pretty nice game. ^^ Nice graphics, nice guns, nice running around through and out of air vents. ^^ Just like the Duke. :)

It's a cool game, I've gotten stuck in one of the levels though. :)

The 3D engine is pretty impressive, if I didn't know better I would have guessed it to be Build. Sloping sectors, 3d platforms made of sprites (I think? They all seem to be square and made up of full tiles), variable texture sizing on walls and masks and so on.

It's a shame the level design is so uninspired and lacking in detail.

It even runs in XP without dosbox, In Vista 64 bit, it needs dosbox, and I not sure about Vista 32 bit.
It 's a shame that it doesn't have Mouse Look view. Swisscn anyway to fix?

It does have mouselook, works fine for me at least. Even has invert settings, a crosshair and seperate axis sensitivity controls.

OK, I'm leaving now, but I can't believe people still remember this game. Hardcore.

That's looks really cool (in a 1996 kind of way). You're right, looks better than Doom, and seems more-or-less on a par with Duke3D, tech-wise. If any boffins see this post and scoff at how inaccurate my observations are (with regards to it looking as good as Build) - I am not a programmer, and will just roll my eyes and laugh if you make such a reply.

My boxed copy just came in from Amazon, this is now the SECOND time I've had the game, hopefully I'll take better care of this disc than my 14yr old self. :3
