Space suit in Duke Nukem 3D for Sega Genesis

I dont think that many players know about old Duke Nukem 3D port for Sega Genesis made in 1998. I recently discovered it accidentally by browsing videos on YouTube related to Duke. And I have found intersting screenshot from it.

Look at HUD. Specifically at selected inventory item. Is it something that looks similiar to unused space suit from Duke, isnt it?
I have question for people who played this game: Does this game include functional space suit?

I don't know, and tbh, I don't really even care considering how utterly crappy the game was.

Nobody in their right mind should have any interest in this illegally-made port(if you can call it that) whatsoever.....it's worse enough that it has the "Duke Nukem" name brandished on it, but to call it "Duke Nukem 3D"?? That's pretty much the ultimate insult to one of the best titles ever made. It has basically zero to with the PC classic and literally everything that made the latterly-mentioned awesome is gone, due to the Genesis' technical limitations. Ugh.

 OMG The official name of this game is Duke Nukem 3D. Maybe you think that I want to defend it. No way! I havent played this game personally. (Maybe it is my luck) But from what I have read from reviews and comments and seen from YouTube videos I just cant consider this game to be well made port of original Duke. Graphic is shitty and levels are completly different. Even engine is different. Original sprites were cheaply converted. But I dont think that it was made illegally. If it was, then I really dont understand why 3drealms didnt tear apart developers with their lawyers and didnt stop distrubution.

Yes the game include functional space suit. If you don't have the space suit in space you die.

How so? It's exactly the same as the PC version except they censored it....therefore making it quite arguably worse.

I hope you were being sarcastic....

And even if it had the most spectacular ending in the world, that wouldn't make up for any game that sucked as bad as Genesis Duke 3D.

Btw, what the holy frig is a FIRE EXTINGUISHER doing on the organic vine-covered wall of an alien lair?!?! Are they trying to be funny or something?? See 1:54 of the video.

That is nothing like real Duke Nukem 3D or any of the cut scenes in the real game. Also i was being sarcastic then, is your sarcasm detector broken?

Wow. That looks absolutely terrible. Though I can't help but wonder how much of DN3D's code it ran on, since there are some clear differences in how the weapons function. I noticed from the video that only part of the weaponsway was used, as the hud weapons only bob up and down, not side to side.

This game was only made and distributed in Brasil, 3DR didn't pursue the developers because it was a shitty game and rather obscure. The game is basically only a shitty version of "Lunar Apocalypse."

You know what I agree with you.

Even that port was shitty as hell, but it still has some good things.(Like the functional space suit)

But shitty things just ruined them, it's just a Wolfenstein 3D-like shooter with Duke3D's textures, sprites and sounds.

I believe it's a completely different engine, but with Duke Nukem 3D sprites and textures, meaning no code from Duke 3D went in to this..."port."

It looks kind of like the Zero Tolerance engine.

It isn't, it appears to be written from scratch. It's actually pretty impressive for what it is.

It's probably the best 3D Duke game they possibly could've made for the Genesis hardware, I'll give you that much....

But that being said, there's no way this game ever should have been made....heck, even the Saturn version of Duke 3D lacks a good few of the bells and whistles that gave the PC and PS1 versions their charm. So trying to create a worthy Duke Nukem experience in the 3rd dimension on a 16 bit console is no doubt Mission: Impossible.

Wasn't this version made in a way to combat piracy? I recall some form of deal going down so that 3DR would still at least make some kind of money off of it which is why it exists.

Aren't you mixing it up with Doom?

That is nothing compared to fact that (!)pigcops appear in this game. What on the earth have mutated cops to do in space stations?! LOL
