There is an account entitled Google.com, it is a bot or something? He or it is just always signed on, I wanted to know if anyone knows what it is.

It existed before that. I had seen it for some time now. I just ignored it because I figure it is a bot or in some way related to the Google ads.

You would be correct, I think there is even an Ask Jeeves one? Though that might have been something else.

As far as I am aware it appears when those search engines parse the page for some reason, though it does seem to happen more oftel lately, but then it appears more people are searching for these forums as there is a major increase in the number of users active (37 users (35 guests and 2 members) right now) - I could be wrong though.

It just shows that a Google searcb spider is actively indexing pages on our forums. Has nothing to do with the ads

You suck! Hope you didn't believe that google checks millions of pages when you type something into the search engine (and it takes so little time). I hope you believed that it checks pages before and creates indexes with the information about them and when you search for something it actually checks it's indexes.

Yeah. It's a simple technical term. I believe there is also one called "Yahoo! Slurp Spider".

Btw did a mod just edit my post for the lulz? I could have sworn I wrote "search" but when I went to check it today it said "searche"
