Well considering that of the 2 games that this forum revolves around, one of them was released in 1996 and the other hasn't been released yet, I thought it would be interesting to find the ages of people faithful to the Duke.

It'd be nice to have some statistics of this, and maybe we could do it again in 5 years or something and see where the community is going?

(lol I know slots of 10 years is a bit much, sorry if you're on the extreme end of one of those categories.)

btw I'm 16, so until someone younger comes along I'm the youngest on the forum  (and the oldest too )

Should've broken it up into 5 year segments IMO. 25 next month.

Couldn't admins edit this poll? Cause TX is right. 5 year segments are more appropriate. Especially in the first 30 years.

Micky C, zchri9 is younger.

LOL, I will be 45 in a few months time and thus in the upper bracket of 41-50 anyway... so I don't give a s**t

If you say you are 21 at a bar sometimes people buy you drinks. Actually, if you talk to anyone at a bar long enough, they will buy you a drink....

I'm 29 here. Although I was only 15 or 16 (Sept. 1980 to Jan. 1996, hmm...yeah, it was 15) when Duke 3D was released, I still felt that I could handle that game without any trouble.
Sorry about posting more than I should, but needed to do the math out loud. Even tho Duke3D was M rated, I don't think that the age restrictions were as strict back then as they are now.
Even tho I'm 29, I still feel like I am a teen, guess that's something I can't shake.

I was playing when I was four, man! I still remember when the action figures came out, and then I got some of them for my birthday. I like shit my pants.

I remember getting Duke3D on my birthday. It was either my 10th or my 13th; I can't remember but I know it was back when Radio Shack sold video games (and that was a long time ago). I really feel like I have had Duke3D since '97 though...

Radio Shack selling video games...wow, that DOES go back quite some way, doesn't it? Now they replaced their video game section with a cell phone outlet. Hard to believe what can happen within that decade and a few years.

I turned 22 just last week. I actually played DN64 before I played the computer version of Duke Nukem. My folks bought an N64 before they got a computer, but they always had pretty arbitrary priorities.

Well it looks like the vast majority of people on this forum are under 30, so I guess if DNF doesn't come out, Duke has at least another 50 years of fans left ;)

And there are more under 20 people than I thought, which is a good thing. But I don't feel quite as young, relatively speaking.

The majority were teenagers or so when Duke3D came out...that isn't a surprise really. Of course, there is the group of kids who were barely alive when Duke3D came out...but...yeah.
