High Resolution Pack help. "I can't get the HRP to work. There are no enhanced graphics."
#1 Posted 17 September 2009 - 02:33 PM
The HRP is the mod that modernizes the game (makes it 3D by today's standards), right?
Well, the thing isn't working. Everything else (eduke32, dukeplus, etc.) works, but the HRP doesn't. It looks the same as it always was. That is, the game uses sprites rather that 3D models. What gives?
I suppose I should include info on how I downloaded it.
I downloaded it as a .rar file, extracted it into a blank directory, copied the Duke3D GRP file into the directory, and had to manually extract several archives contained within the game's sub folders. I thought I had it down, but either I missed out on something, or did it all wrong.
Anyway, the game works great, it's just the pack that isn't working.
If anyone has any insight into my problem, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

Make sure you have "Enable Hi Res textures" set to yes in the the games Options/Renderer Setup. Also make sure the "Use Autoload Folder" Box is checked on the EDuke32 startup options.

I just ran the game and didn't see an "Enable Hi Res Textures" option. I think I did something wrong...
EDIT: The game's options menu has no Renderer section. Something's missing...

Post your eduke32.log file. Zip it and upload it or wrap it in code tags. You can view it by right clicking on it then click on edit. It is the file to the right side of the eduke32.exe. Also you may have an older version of EDuke32. The current version can be found here.

Yes. However, I'm afraid it didn't do much. Now I just get some error about opengl and how it won't be supported.

At first I thought it worked. I recieved no error message, but then when I'd set the renderer to 32-bit opegl, the game would freeze up and go to a grey screen.

Also on a side note, eduke32_mus.zip will not work untill you download OpenAL from where it says in your log file.
