Haven't seen this game being brought up here or in other few forums, hence doing so on my own. It's a game created by Hackers & Hiihtoliitto, a part of the Finnish demoscene. This game reached the 2nd place in the Revision 2024 competition.

An improved version was made available from Steam this year. Among other things, included here are (better) game controller support, a few changes to physics, the addition of a Rush Mode, a speedometer and a Linux binary.

I could also find a little bit earlier v3 archive. v3 and v4 are virtually identical. In terms of game data, only changes between v3 and v4 were of 14 bytes in the last map accessible from the game for playing.

Based on an impression from a different forum in which I created a matching thread, I'll link to this video uploaded via what's apparently a channel of the Hackers group. There doesn't seem to be a newer video of them, so the demonstrated version is (probably) v4:



Responding to someone posting in 3rd forum where I created another matching thread: I'm in contact with a map designer. Regarding the skis' graphics and the perspective, I was told it's essentially a part of the joke. Ski poles were considered, but for now, there's what we have.

I'll add that the game - at least for now - is available for free. It makes use of at least a few borrowed assets from other games (think of sound effects), so that makes sense.

I may further add that after the late March 2024 release of v3 and the early April 2024 update described as v4, late March 2025 had the initial release on Steam, while April 2025 had an update. Quoting this April 10 2015 news post:
