I will never find it not funny that despite being the least popular expansion (of the big three at least), NW has by far the most user-created content for it. By contrast, I only know of one single user map for Caribbean, the most liked.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! I played Nuclear winter earlier this month, guess I will be playing it again tonight lmao.
This looks great William, thanks for hard work.
It does!?
Wait there is only one map for DC? Huh.

We speaking about ALF's Resort? (where you impersonate Larry "Leisure Suit" Laffer anyway). Cuz Shark Cove is not a single map, and the only other two (or one) are deathmatch.

Yup. It's still not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but of the three NW gets the most. I'm assuming because if a mapper wants to do a christmas map, choosing the christmas expansion is just a logical step (such as this very mapset).
Still funny though, considering how hated NW is.

I was speaking of ALF's, yes (the Leisure Suit Larry thing is an optional add-on, not just for the map but for Caribbean on the whole. It's not required to play the map with it, and I usually don't because of the hassle of installing and uninstalling it). Hadn't heard of Shark Cove. I figured that there had to be more than ALF's out there, but not much. You just never really see Caribbean stuff meanwhile NW shows up every few years or so.

DC doesn't really add a lot of new textures and there are no new enemies/weapons, so it's understandable there are no user maps to it - although when I was starting making maps, I did casually just use DC art because it was there, not even being aware it's not vanilla - never released anything with it... I think same goes with ck3D, but I think he even released an old map that uses some DC art and adds it along with the map file.
Also, didn't Highwire's Wet Dream add-on use some of the Caribbean art?

Some of my earliest maps (before 2004) used DC art yes although I wouldn't say they're DC maps per se, I'd just use the art for the exact same reason as you did, some of the brick textures, trees and graffiti were just too convenient to pass on and I wouldn't exactly think about it since none of those maps ever were meant to be released (but AC1 and Overtime eventually were). Around that time period I just had DC installed non stop. I think it wasn't such exceptional practice and quite a few user maps from the early days also did it, so while no one really made maps for DC it's the add-on the tiles of which were the most ripped under some shape or form.
The textures in Wet Dream/Sun Burn (and before that Tropical Alien Massacre) are from Highwire's own mod City Terror but IIRC some of those indeed originally are from Life's A Beach and also Tekwar.
