One of the things that is down-right broken is the controls - and I'm hoping that is high up on the patch list. I'm surprised no one stopped for a second and asked 'is this fun to play as it is?' before shipping... Also, is it just me or does it run pretty slow in certain areas? Oh well, lets hope the patch fixes things.

Yeah, the controls have got to be some of the worst I've ever have to deal with. And I doubt it's something I'll get used to in time with too like in Doom: Resurrection.

Also, did they remove the inventories or what?

BTW, Raziel - did you play it on iPhone 3GS? It runs real slow on my regular iPhone 3G, it ought to play better on 3GS, but alas..

I've played a bit of it on my 2G iPhone. The actual game is only 12 mb now. That means they cut out about 30 mb. For instance they only have episodes 1-3, no level music, and is it just me or have they cut out some of the frames from the in-game sprites? I pressed use infront of a stripper the other day; she was about to 'shake it' but instead of opening up her top, she just continued dancing. One other puzzling thing is ther mirrors. There's a drop in frame rate whenever they're in view, but it shouldn't be that significant because duke 3d mirrors don't actually reflect. They obviously thought it was a problem as well since they included an option to switch mirrors off, but what's the deal with that?

Well, here's my take, it seems to me like their analog stick still just emulates a keyboard... if you hold the analog stick on an angle, you would expect it to move forward and right smoothly... instead, all I get is forward or right... and it gets stuck, so unless you lift your finger before placing it down again, you might hold it on forward-left but it will actually go forward-right... to move both forward and left you would press forward then slide your finger to the left, but then it locks and will keep doing that till you lift your finger. In other words, it is down-right broken.

I was running it on an iPod Touch 2G and it runs slow in places. Speed-wise the IT2G is faster than the iPhone 3G, but slower than the 3GS.

Really unacceptable in my opinion... I can deal with slow down in areas... but there is absolutely no excuse for these shotty controls. I could code it better with a blindfold on. That's why I asked Scott Miller and wanted to work on the port as well, I knew something like this would happen because most people don't care about whether a game is fun after porting it.

Oh well, I'll wait a few weeks then see if an update becomes available.

Raz.
