Another Official Duke Nukem Comic Book found: Duke Nukem Versus Doctor Proton  "No this is not a April Fools Joke."

Making a thread of this because I'm not sure where to post this. While searching the internet archive for stuff to download before they get axed I found this little comic that was green lighted by Gearbox circa 2010.

https://archive.org/...izaran/mode/2up

Basic premise is that Duke Nukem fights some robots created by Doctor Proton.

I thought I should post it here because aside from Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard we really don't have other comics (Unlike Tomb Raider which has a a lot of them. Good quality too).

Anyways just wanted to share what I have found. Cheers!

EDIT: I sent an email to the author to see if he can give a bit more insight on the comic. Fingers crossed he is the guy and he has the time and inclination to answer.

To give context, the author of this comic, Guillermo Lizarán, posted it in the Duke Nukem Leak Community Discord a couple of months ago following the Duke Nukem Reloaded leak. I'll let his messages tell the story:

And these are the two images he attached:

To summarize, Guillermo was originally a member of the Interceptor forums where he participated in a contest to come up with a fake movie poster idea to be used in Duke Nukem Reloaded, and he won with his "Full Metal Packet" entry. He also received Reloaded-branded underpants as a physical prize. He then became unofficially associated with the Reloaded team, illustrating the first comic we have now on request from Fred which was intended to be readable as an in-game interactive object. He had sent a document planning a further six issues which would have retold the Duke Nukem 1 story, but Reloaded was officially cancelled soon afterwards. Interceptor eventually moved on to the ROTT remake, leaving this one finished comic issue unseen until now.

I was wondering why I never heard of this.

Shame it went into the toilet. A retelling of DN1 with the attitude of the later games sounded kinda fun. I always did think it was funny how DN1 called Duke a "humble sort of guy" and then the sequel literally starts off with an autobiography called "Why I'm So Great."

I know the thread has pretty much been answered by good old Marphy, however I wanted to add that I received a response by the author! The email basically confirms everything posted before, however he did comment that some of his drawings were featured on Duke4 when DNF came out. He also annexed some screenshots of the same pictures posted by Marphy.

So yeah, that's all. I'm gonna be honest, I was not expecting any response and we already know all that is needed to know about this, so I'm struggling with a response. I think I will respond with a thanks and leave it at that. :)

Invite him to these forums. Let him find out what kinds of degenerates are the audience for his comics :D
