This is what millions of Duke fans have been waiting for for 20 years.
We got a continuation of a great game, albeit unfinished, but very "dukish".
Despite the fact that the gameplay of DNF2001 is more reminiscent of Half-Life1, it still turned out to be the best game that has been done in the Duke universe since the cult DN3D. and certainly better than the 2011 game of the same name.
It is surprising how well the developers improved the Unreal1 engine, and how organically it approached the game.
Episode 1 of the game turned out to be the most completed, and if the whole game was completed with such quality and attention to detail, then DNF2001 would be a real hit.
I hope community finishes the development of this wonderful game!

This is so amazing, and I'm glad it has finally actually happened! I hope someone decides to finish the game, whether as a single or community project. As someone who isn't skilled in anything regarding game making, I offer my services as a voice actor to anyone wanting to tackle this awesome project. I can voice Duke himself as well as standard NPC's.

Wouldn't it be the greatest irony, that DNF killed the fandom and the franchise, and then DNF revived them both?

I've been busy so, when I saw this kind of thing pop up on my YouTube I thought it was bull shit. Couldn't be happier to be wrong

It's depressing the "2001" iteration was never completed and released.
The texture detail and rich colors are aesthetically pleasing.
It was looking bad around 2003.
George got distracted by shadows.

You can always bet on Duke4 community to fix things they are the best when it comes to Duke Nukem.

It's not the same anymore, it's more like Duke 2011

Man I can't get over how great all these screenshots of the Lady Killer look.
Besides making me even more frustrated that I still can't get this thing to work, it just astonishes me how far more fleshed out the casino seems to be compared to the 2011 version, despite being a beta/alpha build. Always bugged me just how little of the LK you get to explore in 2011. Three maps, two of which are copies of each other.

Yeah, the cutting is shipping remark was around the time they went to a two weapon limit, restricted all the power ups, arranged all the inputs around an Xbox controller, started chopping down levels and unfinished content to get the game ready for release.

I suspected it from the trailer, but this vid confirms it (since I still can't play this myself). 2001 was aiming to go back to the semi-futuristic aspect that was present in DN1 and 2, but downplayed somewhat in 3D, and then mostly ignored again in 2011.

What is the main idea of the Inside the computer chapter?
How Duke get inside and for what?
What enemies planned for this episode?
What do you think?

This surely works like an early iteration of levels like Shrunk Machine or Meat Grinder where Duke is shrunk inside some machinery.
