Zeta Touch - Raze and EDuke32 Android ports

Haven't seen a thread for it here, so thought about creating one.

Originally started as an Android port of Raze titled "Raze Touch", it now also supports Ion Fury v2.0 via a port of EDuke32.
Note that a high end device is expected to be required for Ion Fury.

The Android ports should be considered unofficial.

Based on a quote from the opening post of the ZDoom thread, as shown on Jan 21 2022:

Quote

* Play all BUILD game supported by Raze
* Play EDuke32 and it's many mods
* Play your copy of Ion Fury
* Full touch screen controls with many options and configurations
* Play official addons
* Mod support
* Full Gamepad support
* Custom buttons
* 'Quick commands'
* Gyroscope aiming
* GLES2 and the full OpenGL renderer

Yeah it ran great. But stopped working with newer versions of Android or I'd have kept using my beta build.

Is this purely for android or is there also iOS development?

I don't think the developer has any iOS apps

Apple's rules wouldn't allow it, You can't have an app run a game from outside sources

There's Altstore but that requires jumping through hoops to install

I'll also add a link to the repository covering what looks like the Android app itself (including the expected Java code):
https://github.com/emileb/Zeta_Touch

eduke32_mobile, Raze and ZMusic are all referenced as git submodules, along with additional submodules.

Finally a way to properly play Duke3d on the phone. It's as good as the Delta Touch for Doom. In fact I assume this is by the same developer.

It might be a good time to remind this still exists, with the last released version being v3.2.1. In addition to A.W.O.L. being covered (at least as of November 2022), I may quote the following details from the website for the last version:

Quote

v3.2.1 Changelog [04 December 2023]

Added AMC EDuke32 engine
Updated Eduke32/Ion Fury dev to play Ion Fury Aftershock
Updated Raze to 1.8.1
Added maintain aspect ratio option for EDuke32
Can see game controls when editing custom button positions
Fixed Gyro Toggle button for gamepad

One suggestion I have is to support the PK3 file extension in the same manner that ZIP is supported. PK3 has been used by NetDuke32's maintainer, Striker, and later also for other few NetDuke32-compatible mods later. Such files made for EDuke32 or Raze but ending with ZIP should still work if ending with PK3, of course. As in the case of Q3A, one of the purposes is clarifying the PK3 should be used as-is, rather than extracting them.

Regarding the ability to maintain aspect ratio, that is a feature not present in stock EDuke32 at the moment. I recall trying to implement it in the past on my own under a short time period. While feasible for the software renderer, I recall hardware renderers having the viewport changed under certain circumstances, thus making it more of a challenge (albeit obviously still possible), and chances are this required rendering to an additional texture.
