Duke Nukem's Facebook

that is so obvious it hurt my eyes ;)

My theory is that the Duke Begins team continued dev on DNF. They were into Duke afterall. The 2,5 timeframe for the planned dev of Duke Begins let me hope that this team is at least 50 man strong, if not even about 100!

There is not even any confirmation about the size of the Duke Begins Team or exactly what was done with the game and what this team was even doing to begin with. For all we know Duke Begins could of only been in the concept stage, putting of story boards and doing some initial engine work. I am curious about what this team is doing now but I highly doubt at this point that it has anything to do with DNF.

so Scott is posting new DNF screens when he still is in a legal battle with Take 2? WTF? His ass will get sued to hell and back!

This is giving me head-aches. ;)

Those are nice pictures of a game that we will never see in that state....a shame that is.

Unless they have something up their sleeves, I don't think they should be posting these. Marketing for Duke in general is sort of what those are to me right now.

Duke Begins team working on DNF is highly unlikely. DB was probably being built on Source, or something similar. According to things 3DR has said, DNF practically has it's own map editor and is only minorly similar to UnrealEd. It'd take the team weeks to even get in the swing of a new engine, and its highly unlikely that they would go to work unpaid for a video-game, especially in this economy.

Surely mister Wiederhold still has some contacts at Gearbox, perhaps they can inform us of things we really aren't allowed to know but ask about anyway. ;) knowledge is free! fight the system! etc etc

I'd bet it's on Unreal Engine 3, as the recent Gearbox offerings. Story.wise, it would be nice to know what Duke "Begins" was aiming at. Beginning of Duke? ;)

Imagine that, Duke in kindergarten, kicking the asses of bullies with slingshots and water balloons.

I thought they said the only similarity between duke and unreal engine was the editor, and they redid the rendering in the engine completely? i thought that was said a long time ago anyway

Yeah, but if everything is different, the editor would also work differently. ;-) It'd have the same/similar interface, sure, but the effects and stuff would all be done differently.

No. It should be from the real beginning. When there was no light and even before Chuck Norris.

It would be cool is Duke Begins took place when he was fighting Dr.Proton.

Chuck Norris is over-rated. Fedor Emelianenko could knock Chuck out (when he was in his prime).

LMAO to all that, this is a REAL LEGEND who actually beat Zionist supporting Chuck Norris:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=JLO1YIWQuXE

The only Legend that can match Duke himself in fighting. I say he could've even beaten Duke sorry to say, but this guy was the best seriously as he's proven himself of that really incredibly and amazingly well.

Too bad he was killed. (GOD) rest his Soul.

But robots and purple bunnies are boring adversaries (these were in Duke Nukem 1).. and probably wouldn't fit the direction that the Duke franchise has taken over the years.

Well, Duke himself wore purple shirt back then.

I would imagine a more Wolfenstein type of route concerning enemies in this case. Maybe a few Soldier-types, Cyborg Soldiers, Zombies, Mutants, Cyborg-Mutant-Zombie things. ;)

Rockmx8, obviously Bruce Lee owns all, everyone knows that. Say something we don't know.

Well I didn't really laugh at him, but I don't consider UFC or MMA or whatever Fedor is competiting in as REAL FIGHTING. That's what I was laughing at really. ;)

And yes Bruce Lee was the best, that's what I wanted to hear here afterall the Chuck Norris fiasco going on here. Anyways no offense and with all due respect, I just needed to remind of you the REAL LEGEND. ;)

Not if the "bunnies" were Playboy bunnies and the robots were..well, robots. But you see where this could be taken.

Duke has a back story?

I thought it was pink? He also had terrible sunburn - I'm waiting to find out about the cancelled "Duke Nukem Skin Cancer" game, which was an educational game to teach kids to use sun cream.

It was on the fence between pink and purple. Like Duke himself, trying to decide what personality he was.

Gearbox is well known for working with the Unreal Engine... ....and:

This was posted on some forum I forgot by Charlie Wiederhold (Wieder):

"If you are familiar with UnrealEd from the UT2k3/4 eras, you'll be able to hop into DukeEd pretty easily."

Since he is posting here, he can confirm it. ;)

The editor was still pretty much the same according to friends after they were let go.

GBX is a hardcore Unreal Engine house.

I was just about to post about how much I enjoyed an early game of their's, until I wikied it and found out it wasn't by Gearbox at all :/

Anyway the game was Gunman Chronicles, check it out people if you have an OLD computer or you like FPS with great guns/gun customisation or miss when Turok was good (make those dinosaurs extinct once more).

If Gearbox was already signed on to make Duke Begins, I have a strange feeling maybe 3DR (i.e. Scott and George inc.) may have worked a deal to get them to finish DNF.

I just don't understand why they keep releasing media and posting these cryptic announcements. If the game is canceled fine, just don't pour salt into a twelve year old wound.
